Cannonier definitely has some of the most underrated and the gnarliest ground and pound in the modern UFC era.

I agree 100 percent, his elbows are vicious and deadly as hell

nah he’s straight up one of the most underrated fighters in the modern ufc era. dude was firmly third behind izzy and rob for years , but he gave them a run for their money in their fights

This dude also made it all the way down to 185. There’s no middleweight that can take shots from a guy that used to knockout heavyweights.

It was pretty remarkable how competitive the Cannonier fight was until it wasn't, love Derek. Lovable idiot.

Brunson's corner loves throwing in the towel about 5 big shots too late.

It truly befuddles me every time I watch Derek Brunson run squarely forward, in a straight line, with his head in front of his feet, and his chin so high in the air that it either looks like he’s searching the night sky for star constellations, or maybe someone super glued the crown/back of his head to the top of his thoracic spine, or was trying to flex his Adams apple. And while that’s so blatantly dangerous and easy to criticize, it honestly makes it amazing that he somehow did it and had respectable success competing at the level he did! I would love to be a fly on the wall in the room when his coaches have addressed this with him. I imagine it went something like….. “Derek, there are so many attributes that you have developed/posses to make you a great fighter. You are athletic, a very good wrestler/grappler, tough, hard working, etc. But for the love of God, you can NOT look at the ceiling, with your hands behind your back, and “Naruto Run” straight forward against a world-class fighter that is trying to punch you in the face?????!!!!! You’re so talented! Its truly frustrating that this needs to be explained!”

crazy how much power pzzy generatesd from a standstill just turning into the punch

I think the main reason he got knocked out there is because it was extremely unexpected and he didnt see the punch coming at all.

As scary as Alex Pereira is, you gotta give it to Izzy for KOing him. Everyone else was utterly destroyed by Alex. Except maybe Jan.

So Strickland should definitely get the winner of Izzy and DDP right? Because that’s the way I see it because Strickland and DDB had a close fight regardless and they’re just doing this Izzy and DDP, fight because of the racial tension and money
