A ton of work and effort goes into making videos like this, but it's all worth it for comments like these. I definitely have more Raptor videos to come and will be uploading a video where I Raptor an entire BRAND NEW Jeep Gladiator JL this saturday and it will be premiering on February 20th! I'm excited to see what you think of that video as I show a lot of things I may have missed in this video as well as some new aspects of Raptor such as a drop coat. Thanks again, it makes it easier to go through the many hours of editing knowing there are viewers like you watching!

@@MyJeepStory Very cool , can't wait to see the new video with the JL . I subbed to your channel and will be watching the other videos over again ; because I'm planning on raptor lining my 2007 Honda VTX 1300c motorcycle frame. I dumped the bike and scuffed the frame really bad in multiple spots and decided to try something different other than powder coating. I live on the Illinois-wisconsin boarder so it's getting done in mid - April (better weather). That JL is gonna look sweet ! Hey , who knows man . You could have a lucrative side/full time business here. One small suggestion if I may. Since you said the retention viewing was 8 min. How about making several 7 min videos showing different tests . Examples but not limited to: Durability- hammering 2 coated pipes together, drop test , Road salt test - Toss a coated pice of metal and non coated in a bucket of salt water for 1,2,3 weeks and a revised video 3 months later and compare. Maybe get 3 pieces of sheet metal (1 square foot each ) and show different textures that can be achieved with what psi and distance . Could also do a "4 tips and tricks video to a better finish video" I personally like to use a bucket of water with a little aquarium heater set @ 100 degrees , and when I spray paint, plasti dip, or when I used raptor on my rocker panels; I like to shake the cans put in the bucket and warm them up for 5 min shake and warm another 5 then use. I get great results that way. Anyways , it your channel and you can use those if you want 🙂 . Take care man ,hope your channel does great . Takes time but it'll get it'll get there .

Buying the kits with the stock guns would solve the clogging issue. Just throw the gun away when you move on to the next kits worth of product. You can control the texture at the compressor level dialing down or turning up. I’ve seen good results that way running 80 psi

I watched it too, any rule with video is content is king, if you have great info that takes 26 minutes to present, not just fluff and filler, then it should be that long! Since you mentioned nozzle issues and such, I'd love a followup that shows the proper settings etc and maybe some spin off videos showing how you're supposed to clean the gun (the one that comes with the kit would be awesome). Also distance from the vehicle, I've seen other videos that say about 14 inches...but no one mentioned for subsequent coats changing the direction of application...so that was great.
@MyJeepStory3 жыл бұрын
It's tough to find the right balance of how long a video should be without trimming necessary bits, so I appreciate the kind words. I've actually never spent so long on a video until recently and I'm happy to say that I do have a follow-up video on the way where I Raptor a BRAND NEW Gladiator and I show a lot of the things that I was missing from what compressor I use to other details as well. I do indeed show the difference in distances shot and I do want to mention that you will have no issues with the standard Schutz gun that comes with the kit as long as you run a solvent through it after every two bottles of Raptor, that gun is actually more reliable in my opinion albeit the price difference. I'm really excited to premiere that video and it will release February 20th! I can't wait to hear what you think of that video as well!

Great job by the way 👌 I have 2 questions. 1) where did you get the inline air regulator: maybe a link? & 2) how did you solve the problem of the clogging nozzle; did you have to run a certain chemical thru the gun to help keep it clean so it would spray evenly with each bottle?
@MyJeepStory3 жыл бұрын
I appreciate it and I'm happy to help! You can get the inline air regulator in most hardware stores, but this one from Eastwood is a great example: www.eastwood.com/eastwood-elite-paint-gun-regulator.html?gclid=CjwKCAjwjJmIBhA4EiwAQdCbxuJ77_S94wFHfUpkWvpbO-0-jVpJiZWE8FGmTRdcod15AqFdlg9UwxoCb3cQAvD_BwE As for the clogging nozzle, after every two liters, I run a solvent through the gun until it shoots clear and after every coat, I take the gun apart and thoroughly clean it.

Awesome video! Question, does dirt tend to cling and build up in the textured finish? 90% sure I will be doing the process,any regrets?
@MyJeepStory3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching! I get this question a lot, but in all honesty, I've never had an issue with dirt in the bedliner. I think that this stigma comes from cheaper bedliners that rely on rubber chunks for texture as they don't end up with a smooth texture whatsoever. Raptor is rough, but it's a urethane coating and gets its texture from the spray methods. Cleaning it is even easier and you can take a pressure washer to the paint and clear it of debris super easily! I have no regrets at all in doing this to my Jeep and I recently have laid the paint hard on some trees while off-roading and there's absolutely no chips or anything in the paint. Not only is it unique, but it's very functional. A lot of car guys won't appreciate it due to all of the poorly done jobs done with the single-part rubber bedliners, but Raptor is a great product and isn't to be taken lightly! If you're wondering just how much confidence I have in Raptor, check out my latest videos. I even Raptor Line a brand new Jeep Gladiator JT! kzbin.info/www/bejne/oJy2k6p3mruBsLc

@MyJeepStory4 жыл бұрын
After doing research, this is just an inherent part of this type of gun that has a lot of material flow. Residual material starts to very slowly cure and it’s recommended to shoot acetone through the gun after every two bottles of Raptor!
@midnightdragon54774 жыл бұрын
@@MyJeepStory oh I thought you did that! Why I was confused
@MyJeepStory4 жыл бұрын
I did slightly do this, but I did it after every coat which is equivalent to 6 six or so bottles meaning I went around 10-15 minutes without spraying a solvent through to clear the pathway. Then at the end of each coat, I didn’t think to disassemble the gun for a deep clean resulting in thinner coats due to restricted material flow the next time around. It’s a shame, but you live and you learn!

Incredibly in depth videos and kudos for the follow up teaching people the problems. I have raptored several times and used several "other" products before I found Raptor. Great videos! The hair though! But I'm 53 so who cares. Keep up the adventures!
