That’s kinda whack that the Pokemon company is lacking in customer service, proper shipping and packaging and not to mention the printing issues. I think booster boxes and pc etbs are definitely worth adding to the collection and they’ll eventually go up in price and will resell but storing to keep them in prestige condition(that is if your plastic does not have a hole in it lol) is a hassle. But the organized collection looks dope in the background!

One time I ordered something sent to the wrong address and I realized immediately after I put the order in, I contacted PC costumer support immediately to change the address and they said they can’t cus the order is already at the warehouse they can’t make any modifications . It was literally 2 mins after I put the order in . They just don’t want to help. Very disappointing customer service, one of the worst I’ve ever come across.

Thank you ! I started as far back as 1999 when base came out but been very on off . Pretty much stopped in the 2010s . I started amping up since late 2022! How about you ?

Got back into pokemon collecting late 2023 after 20 years …and I regret EVERY pokemon cards and slabs I bought! TRUE story. Now I’m selling all them at or bellow what I paid for and I’m talking tens of thousands worth. Wish it was one piece I got back into collecting because the prices are just ridiculous. My 40k would have been 100k+ by now looking at how the prices of one piece has skyrocketed

I feel your pain brother 😢 I literally remember like it was yesterday when I walked into my LGS and they had OP-01 booster boxes right after the reprint for 140$ and I was this close to pulling the trigger, but I didn’t cus I had already spent my budget on Pokémon. Sigh. But hindsight is 20/20 and i truly believe one piece tcg is a huge bubble being manipulated right now. It’s not a bag I want to get left holding when it pops. It’s just too risky for me. I think for short term flip then yeah there is definitely potential but at the end of the day I’m a true Pokémon fan and it brings me joy to have these cards. I’m just thankful most the money I spent was on sealed product at very good prices, so even in a down 2023 market, I did not lose money. I hope it works out for you 🙏

@@PokemonPharmacy true that it’s a big manipulation bubble, but with how little Bandai is printing these cards, how much of a crash is it going to be? As soon as the price dips even a little, it will be bought out cuz there’s just not many floating around due to low print runs So much demand but so little supply. If manipulation crashes the market, it’ll just right back up. Manipulate won’t beat out the IP with how big one piece is.

They’re getting bought up by the scalpers though. I feel like for a tcg to last, it needs true fans crazy enough to pay these prices lol. And imo , the one piece tcg isn’t strong enough yet for that, not like Pokémon has with it’s almost 30 year history. Yes right now it’s the new shiny toy and the anime is reaching a peak, it’s doing very well. But i think in a few years , it’s going to eventually crash as people lose interest and the anime winds down/finishes. Unlike Pokémon, once One piece anime finishes, I don’t see how the fans can continue the all-time hype with no new content to the main story, whereas Pokémon just retired Ash but introduced a new protagonist, can make Pokémon this-or-that version for eternity, and the concept itself just doesn’t require one main character ( like Luffy) but rather an entire universe of new Pokémon every 1-2 years . So yeah I’m just saying, in the long term I just see Pokémon to prove why it’s the best seller of all time. One piece will have its glory but it won’t last. * just my opinion lol

@@PokemonPharmacy one piece is just as old as Pokémon tho and it’s become the biggest most successful anime/mange of all time. The IP is up there with Harry Potter and LoTR. Even if the story ends maybe in about 10 years, as long as Bandai continues supporting and releasing one piece cards, the TCG can stay alive way past its story ending. And one piece is Bandai’s greatest TCG so it would be stupid not to continue milking it just like Pokémon company milking Pokémon to oblivion. I think one piece has the chance to overthrow pokemon as king of TCG but of course it’ll take time. But at least I don’t see it as a “one and done” TCG like you’re saying it will be. But like you this is also my opinion

Honestly idk why you'd even consider buying a booster box from the official site for that high when in secondary market sells them even cheaper. Seems like a dumb move if you ask me. Plus that way you'd be able too get the condition you want from local gamestores. If you don't have a local gamestore then thats understandable but still a waste of money and my advise is too wait a week after release where the BB will drop down significantly.

It was very dumb :( at the time i didn’t use secondary market places or had a lgs. tcgplayer price was comparable to pokemoncenter.com too since msrp was 140 ish for brilliant stars Silver tempest and that was roughly the price on tcgplayer as well. I learned my lesson :(

@@PokemonPharmacy yeah its good too get experience from this but it breaks my heart seeing someone getting ripped off from having too overpay a bb when the price of a bb should be no more then 110. I get it, its an official site so its trustworthy but not worth the amount you'd have too pay for a bb compare too the secondary market. I normally pick up exclusive etb products or other premium product that I know I won't find in the wild. Always stay away from bb from official site.

To each their own but I think you're coming at the hobby from too big a financial aspect. Sure, we want our collection to gain value over time because it's not a cheap hobby but if you get joy from the cards and products only because of the dollar amounts attached to them, you're gonna have a bad time. Another thing is these things are way more illiquid than people think. Just because the market price for... let's say some random collection box is $200, they're not necessarily flying off collector's shelves on a regular basis for that price. Look at some of the sales of higher end products on TCG Player and certain things sell maybe once every few months. Factor in the fact that you're often times going to pay some kind of fee to to sell unless you're selling in person or on your own website, the profit margins can get eroded very quickly. On top of that, there are so many collector's who are meticulous about the condition of their sealed products or singles that I guarantee selling this stuff comes with way more headaches than most other goods. I dunno. I collect for the sake of collecting. Amassing pretty shiny pieces of cardboard for no other reason than to know I have it and to have fun looking at. I also enjoy interacting with fellow collectors to just talk the hobby as well. It's a fun space to be in.

Appreciate your insight fam! For me, when it comes to sealed products, i see them mostly as investments. When it comes to singles, I collect what I like. Since this hobby is not cheap and I want to be in it for the long haul, I try to make the best financial decision I can whenever possible so that I can fund other aspects of my collection such as aforementioned singles. Guess this video came off as if I only buy Pokémon for monetary purposes, but that’s not the case at all haha. Overall I’m super happy about my collection and yes things go up and down in price . I also sell on eBay regularly so I get hit with fees all the time, they suck lol. Cheers to both our collecting journeys !

I completely agree there’s no right or wrong and I actually don’t even mind people trying to make money off it becus honestly I am as well lol but I do think that if someone truly loves the tcg, they will be able to last in it for the long term cus prices fluctuate all the time. Like u said, if one focuses only on price and when we hit a down market, that person most likely is not going to have a good time and may quit altogether . Thus scalpers never last and have no real love, they just hop from one hobby to another, for example now they’re all in One piece .

@@PokemonPharmacy it absolutely is manipulated. There are people buying out certain cards in tcgplayer and Bandai is too dumb to keep reprinting so it has become a collectors game. Regular people can’t get in due to the insane prices of even regular cards.
