FYI, go to 2:54 if you just want to see my list of top 5 programming languages. And here’s my Patreon page: www.patreon.com/csdojo Also, I'd recommend my Python tutorials for absolute beginners: kzbin.info/www/bejne/kGK8lWqrpbamjrs EDIT: As I mentioned in the video, I've built this list with the job market and ease of learning as my main criteria. That's why I decided to put, for example, Ruby instead of PHP in my list (Ruby has a really nice, simple syntax). If I were to add two more languages to this list, I think they would be PHP and C#-- they would also be great languages to learn considering the current job market. I'm personally not too experienced with their syntax though-- would be great if I could get some comments about how they are from you guys. Anyway, I’ll see you guys in the next video! :)

I'd say C++ would be the best. I'm not saying that just because i love C++, but with C++ knowledge you can easily learn most other "modern" languages. Learning Java or Javascript on the other hand teaches you almost nothing about pointers/references, memory management, etc, so if you learn Java and then try to learn C++ you'll be shocked with how much additional stuff you have to take care of and all the kinds of different adressing methods. Some people might argue C would be even better for that, but personally i think C is a bit too cumbersome to me, due to lack of classes, templates and whatnot. C++ is for me the perfect gold between "not as cumbersome as C, but low-level enough to have good control over what's going on, having control over in what way things are passed around aswell as getting good knowledge for learning other languages".

I have been programming in Java for over 15 years. Early in my career i landed a job in the defense and aerospace industry where i spent over 2 years building simulation subsytems using C++. The transition from Java to C++ was not an easy due to mistakes of forgetting to deallocate references when no longer used since i was used to luxury of garbage collector. Besides, coming from Java, it needed bit of mental shift to wrap myself around the proper usage of pointers and references in C++. Although I managed to learn C++ to its depth and use it extensively but the approach i find it easier when i teach my students in academia is to start with plain old C, then progress to C++ then Java.
@dunai20125 жыл бұрын
there is no conception of so called "top language". what language to learn totally depends on what career path you want to go through. data science, machine learning? absolutely python business development? java web development? html/css/javascript and many frameworks portable device app? swift for ios, java for android low level and system programming? C/C++, maybe Rust

I've always been thinking that languages don't matter at all for top companies like Google and Microsoft, since I saw so many job posting where they ask only basics, but more on theory side. sure, if learning language is your sole purpose, that's not a bad way of looking at it, OTOH, if you want something you can quickly get up to speed on AND is still very useful in a lot of job market situations, Python is better. It requires little or no formal programming training and is very powerful plus found on nearly any backend platform running services. Get started now with something you can use quickly and if you are a natural and or find a need for even more programming power advance to C++/JAVA in the future.

very nice and informative video, but what about C++ ? how is it in comparison to Python (with respect to ML especially) Plz must reply
@nidhishs60545 жыл бұрын
Python is much more widely used in ML since it has various libraries that are especially made for ML and Artificial Intelligence. Although C++ has faster compile times, implementation of AI is much more difficult than Python.

JS is still easier than Java. Java has so many classes to learn. Also just learning core java wont get you any jobs. You need to learn the whole java ecosystem to even get an interview. Things like Collections framework as a whole, Streams, Concurrency(which is even more robust but insanely big api), Generics, Lamba Expressions, Weird interfaces like marker interfaces or functional interfaces, Servlet Containers, Spring Framework(Core, Web, AOP, Test, Data, JPA, Rest, Security), ORM stuff like JPA and its implementation framework like hibernate, Junit/mockito testing, maven/gradle build tools, some logging frameworks like sl4j, some message queues and so on. For js, you need basic understanding of closures, promises, observables, prototype based inheritance, scope/hoisting, events bubbling/capturing, debouncers/throttlers, fancy es6 stuff like arrows or destructing etc or things like apply, call, bind and then a little about testing with mocha or chai. This is much easier to learn than the bloated java ecosystem. I do like Java as a language, but its ecosystem is insanely complex. Even Spring which is dubbed as lightweight feels so bloated. :P

What are you talking about? JS and python more easier to learn than java.
@isodoubIet5 жыл бұрын
@@blasttrash "JS is still easier than Java" Welp, in one of these two languages, array + object = object but object + array = 0, and it's not Java. Javascript is a hellscape of landmines and bad decisions, and I cannot fathom anyone finding it easier than Java.
@blasttrash5 жыл бұрын
@@isodoubIet In one of these languages its easy to create REST api in 5 minutes and the other 20 minutes. The ecosystem is also heavyweight in Java. Spring although dubbed as lightweight is not nimble or lightweight for modern usage. If spring itself is called lightweight, imagine how heavyweight Java EE is.

Well, i would suggest C++ and JAVA as the best languages to learn because they both are kind of system oriented(not JAVA as it is widely used in web development) and both of these are a bit complex so if you can learn them it would be very beneficial as it would help you to make ur basics strong and after that you can learn python and java script..... As they are a bit easy. Second important fact abt these two languages are taht they both are widely used in the field of competitive programming contests on codechef and coderforces and C++ is the most preferred language in competitive programming...... Followed by java. Third important thing is that everything needs time to be accepted and become popular in the market. . . . For example java was officially launched in1996 and it took almost 14 years to build it's popularity and wide acceptance in the field of programming and web development all around the globe.. .. And these kotlin and go are fairly very new in the market as compared to other languages so i would suggest you to build your basics in programming and start off with C++.... I am not forcing anyone...... It's just an opinion... If you like my opinion do like my comment or dislike it..... Thx for reading.

Seriously, learn both. You won’t regret it. And don’t just focus on the language. Focus on how you learned a language. You will repeat that approach once you picked up another language. Just like the guy said, focus too on problem solving, data structures, algorithms, and solution design.

The real reason is that the students are just focusing on getting marks although they get knowledge but their main focus is to get marks but eventually they have no knowledge and after getting degree which tells that how much knowledge they have but in interview they have no knowledge so they couldn't get job as they cant help the world And we study for getting knowledge so that we can help the world and then we get something in return (money) but we should never seek for it as a reason of doing work , remember if your focus will on money for doing anything you will never be succeed Money is an important aspect of life but not every aspect of life. If we have knowledge and degree then we can help world if we have knowledge but no degree then we can also help world by giving test of knowledge (or any other method) but if we have only degree but no knowledge then we are obviously not qualified for helping world and if get job so by source then we could not do work and couldn't help world due to lack of knowledge .Aur ha steve jobs ka jo bhi percentage ho ya bhle hi vo college dropout the but apni line me interested the air usme bhot hardwork kiye with consistency and patience but aur agar students bhi apne INTRESTED line hardwork patience and consistency ke sath kam krenge to they will also be successful aur ha ye bs excuse hai na pdhne as marks tell how much knowledge we have aur ha And if you give exams there your knowledge is tested so that you have enough knowledge to get into next class and if you are giving competitive exams then you only get selected if you have scored enough(based on merit) which shows that you have enough knowledge to goto institute for taking further knowlege in your intrested line as you have enough knowledge of previous things to gain next so that you have full knowledge and you can help the world at great level although there also you requires a lot of hardwork to get experienced and can improve,create or run the things to ease people and save their time which they can use in other work If you do the work in which you are interested with hardwork patience and consistency smartly then you will be successful .Smart work with hard work is key to success now smart means doing the same work with efficient manner with minimum time and doing more work in your line smartly it is hard work . In some schools the rules are so strict that they just focus on rules instead of studying instead of it the school should focus more on studies/or any other curricular activities like sports e games etcwith moderate rules and regulations.
