I had Toxic Avenger! I was sort of obsessed with them in the early nineties at the ripe age of 9. My parents knew the movies were a little over the top for me at the time, but I had also just seen Terminator 2, so they weren't going to be those parents.

BlazingVictini Well this list to me seemed to just have a bunch of obscure and bad titles on it, but the thing wit gameboy imo is that if you are going to go full on collector and only getting boxed complete games there are a lot of them that will be much more expensive than this list, Mystic Quest, Gargoyles Quest, and many of these really good games are relatively expensive just as bare cartridges, but get plain crazy when boxed etc if you can find them at all that is. By relatively expensive I mean like Mystic Quest can be $40 or so just for a cartridge unless you get lucky. Also the systems themselves have collectible ones in there, I have two clear Play It Loud original gameboys that are probably the most sought after model of the original one, but there are other colors and also of the later systems there are multiple systems that are limited edition etc. I kinda collect but I don't go for boxed or pristine stuff since I use them and put scratches on them myself, and I have nearly every game I want, just missing a few, and I have all imaginable accessories from Nuby etc and I think I've spent maybe $100-150 tops on that stuff.

OMG Amazing Tater was actually my childhood!I used to play it on a multicart though, I didn't know it was THAT rare, only seeing the menu made me think "wait, I know this game!", it's probably one of those games nobody really cares of, never played the first game, but I can say the sequel isn't that frustrating, I really liked it as a kid

The prices for those cartridges and the possibility of repros, but if they make good quality repros for those rarest titles while letting the collectors get the original cartridges, I would go for repro or emulation repro can possibly benefit from the super gameboy as those titles might work on that thing.

@Nintendrew6 жыл бұрын
It's a tough balance between saying too much or too little about a title. For every comment like yours, I often get another that says they wish I would get to the point quicker and move on. I'm curious, though, in the effort of better focusing my efforts, what other information were you curious about or wanted to see?
@CI2546 жыл бұрын
Honestly thinking about it, its not really information relevant to your subject so I'm not sure how fair I'm actually being asking for more. I'm interested in just more general info on a game sometimes, like why for example Toxic Crusaders was considered to be so poor quality and how that'd translate to a game being rare all of a sudden other than "it just got noticed." Things like that.
@mrselection78146 жыл бұрын
I think NESPUNK Pat did a vid why F1 is so expensive, some guy did it as an experiment and bought like 100 copies or something to prove you alone can create value off bargain bin by cornering the market.......or something like that.

What I'm getting from this: other consoles's valuable games are often about sudden player interest for a particular game or franchise boosting up value beyond initial release, or very limited release in the first place. GB valuable games are all about them being so bad or poorly received that nobody bought them, and even though only collectors want them, there isn't even a supply to satisfy that. Poor GameBoy.
@SameNameDifferentGame6 жыл бұрын
Interesting, but handheld systems (particularly the Game Boy line) don't conform to NTSC or PAL standards, because the screen is built in. I don't know about F1 Pole Position, but in many cases, the US and EU carts are identical except for the label art.

I believe there is going to be a retro gaming market burst. The increase in prices and higher sudden demand such as this can be a sign of a market bubble. With so many more people wanting in on the retro collecting scene, there is going to be sudden artificial demand until it plateus or bursts. I am sure we are going to even see an increase in price of more common games due to this higher demand. Collectors beware, hold off on buying for a while. Its a risk and we may see a sudden drop in prices. All it will take is a sudden move to sell certain games out of fear or for other reasons. I am waiting a good year or two to see what happens in this market before I buy anything else.
@jacobyne6 жыл бұрын
Well a lot of people hate the artificial demand topics because let's be honest, the newer people entering the retro scene just want money and will get anything on their hands to sell for profit later on. They just don't want other people to know. I hope there's a crash.
