Thank you to a friend/member of my Discord Community (StellarLimpkin) for pointing out that the bird pictured at 3:52 is NOT a Yellow-breasted Chat. It is listed by the original photographer as a chat but I did NOT double check that when I posted it in the video. The bird pictured is a Nashville Warbler 😆

I'm 5 for 5 on your list. Residing in Michigan, Kirtland's Warbler is simply a matter of a short road trip to the Jack Pine barrens. My top five US needs are: Lucy's Warbler, Swainson's Warbler, Connecticut Warbler, Rock Sandpiper, and Black-capped Vireo - I been to the places these birds inhabit, but just didn't connect. So for me, these are the "rarest" birds in the US!

Very lucky you live so close to that bird! And amazing that you have seen all five on my list! On your list I have seen Lucy's Warbler on your list but that's it. I hope you get every bird on your list!

I saw a Whooping Crane a couple weeks, about 20 minutes from where I live; it was off course and stayed for a few days. I also saw the Nene on Maui. I love the song of the Thrushes too. 🎶

Those were great birds you mentioned. The rarest bird I've seen was an ivory-billed woodpecker and I saw it in 2018. It was a miracle that I got to see one.

That haunting song is a thrush...not sure which one? So interesting that there are so many lazuli buntings in one area. I just see a pair at a time in an area, or maybe four during migration. That must have been amazing! Like your videos!

This is the year of the dragonfly. I live in MA and walking out my door at least a dozen show up. Mostly blue dashers. Those Lazuli Buntings are awesome! Around here we have Indigo Buntings and I've gotten some of my best shots of them in the past two months. They seem to be doing well.

I've seen a whooping crane a few times. There's a park in Alachua County where I used to live that has a pair that show up pretty regularly every year. It's a bit far out so viewing is definitely via scope, but I've seen it. Also, I love how easily it is for you to see so many Lazuli buntings when I'm sitting jealous over here having never seen one 😅. Such is the birding life.

Nice video! I actually submitted a podcast episode on the rarest birds in North America to NPR for a challenge recently. It was pretty similar to this, but the main difference was that in mine, I said the rarest bird in North America was the Ivory-billed Woodpecker.

Summer of 1998 an orange bird came to rest on our patio. This was in Brampton, Ontario Canada. There was no other color on him. I have not been able to identify the bird so far.. it resembles the tananger.

Interesting. It could have been the Summer Tanager. They can sometimes be tinted a bit orange.

Good morning to you from Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR. The top rarest birds in Asia are the Bay Woodpecker (Hong Kong) and the Bengal Florican , in India 🇮🇳.The Bay Woodpecker was last seen in Hong Kong was reported in 2008. And the Bengal Florican is an endangered bird due to poaching and land conversion. Another bird that’s critically endangered in China 🇨🇳, is the Chinese Crested Tern. There are less than 100 individuals are thought to survive. This bird is known as the “Mythical Bird” because it was thought to be extinct for 63 years before it was rediscovered in the year 2000.
