Vol fan here. I watched that intro very bemused. I never even thought about there being any reason for animosity between Arkansas and Tennessee. I grew up in a house with parents who didn't watch college football. I didnt become a fan until a buddy pulled me into vol fandom in the early 2000s; maybe I just don't have the right context for any rivalry. It seems like your hatred boils down to the 98 loss. I don't blame you, and I respect the passion. A good "why I hate X team" video or message board post is always entertaining (we have a few of those ourselves). Arkansas and Tennessee football actually have quite a bit in common, and it dates back to the 50s and 60s. I never detect hate from either side, and I have several friends who pull for Arkansas. The picture you posted of the Arkansas fumble late in the game was unfortunate for Arkansas, and there is a sad story behind that team. That was the Tennessee National Championship team. Every team that wins a National Championship experiences some luck along the way. I guess that was Tennessee's luck. Arkansas had a great team that year, and Tennessee fans know how lucky they were. It's certainly no reason for hate, but you do what you need to.

There's no hate between the fan bases. He just used that title for click bait. He definitely is not the mouthpiece of Razorback Nation. Those guys often generalize the fan base, but most fans are pretty chill. Most of us just want our team to just quit making so many mistakes and make steady improvement and start winning. We don't have any pro teams here, so the Razorback are the main attraction as far as sports go, so the fans are pretty passionate. What these talking heads dont realize is that most Razorback fans don't even post and aren't as bad as they make them out to be.

As a Vol fan, I relish the Vols being hated by all. If a team isn’t hated then it’s not relevant. I enjoy hearing personal stories about the Vols and you sharing your experiences. Some of these commenters seem very triggered by them. Don’t see why, nor do I really get that. Baseball national champs, knocking on the door of a final four in basketball, and now top 5 undefeated in football with an amazing program outlook, we are finally taking back our rightful place. As a Tennessee fan growing up in AR I can surely attest that hog fans are the WHINIEST fans of any fan base in the SEC. So cry, cry, cry because that is the only thing that may make you better. Tennessee fans have cried alot over the years too so perhaps your getting there. As far as Fulmer cheating, you're misinformed. Alabama is the king of that show but you guys don't consider them a rival because you've been owned by them. There's much more history between Tennessee and AR that is commonly known but you are aware of the historical links and that's great. A true Hog Fan and I commend you. Im a Mena Arkansas boy born and raised. I've been a hog fan since 1988 when mom got me a hog onesy. I remember the game in the 90s when they scored on our opening kickoff then kicked to us , we fumbled, and they scored a touchdown. The only team I hate is Alabama. They are the only team I watched for years have calls overturned and calls shaving the game for their advantage. I'll never forget our what would have been game winning fumble recovery at bama until the ref that was covering the secondary over turned it. Then they got suspended. Things like that. As a hog fan all these years you can't hate every team better than us because I think we are cursed. I was at the miracle on Markham game in 02 vs LSU. I love the hogs. I do however think the program is cursed. Right now we got a QB that will call the snap from the gun and run the play while the ball flys by, or between his hands... ADD perhaps?? Autistic?? Wow. The Hogs are well liked in Tennessee, and this long predates Pittman. Bama, Florida, and UK are viewed unfavorably, but Arkansas is a school Vols cheer for. UT fans love Pittman from his time in Knoxville. He was one of few bright spots in a rough time.

Funny when you look at similarities. Tennessee is now joined, but at one time, I believe the two schools were the last two to have separate athletic departments for both men's and women's sports. Also, although Arkansas is more recent, both have been superpowers at one time in Track & Field. Just a few more similarities to add.

Arkansas and Tennessee are only alike if you view it from Arkansas wishful perspective. Tennessee has won SEC conference championships and a National Championship while a part of the SEC. Tennessee actually has the ceiling to win it all and has proven it. Arkansas on the other hand is more delusional. They have never shown the capacity to win it all. They had a decent coach in Bielema and ran him off after 7 and 8 win seasons, which is closer to the ceiling of their program. They then go on to hire the worst FBS coach in the history of the sport in Chad Morris. Sam Pittman has brought them back to around their progran's true potential, but the fans want to fire him too. Instead they all want a retread in Petrino who never seems to last at ine stop for more than 3 or 4 years. Nope, nothing like Tennessee. Not sure when the last time Arkansas was #4 in the national rankings.

VFL here. I was at that 1998 game; pressbox side, 35 yard line. 20 or so rows up. It rained the whole game. Every time I sat down I was in a puddle of water. TN was behind the whole game. It was just misery watching our national championship hopes going up in the rain. And then. It happened right in front of me. I think we ran the ball 3 straight times after The Turnover. It was.....glorious!

I remember when the vols were trash. Like the hogs are now. Things change. But dont expect to roll onto the hill and sleepwalk to a win. You will leave sad. If the vols play with passion.
