Another off subject question. Do you block fastballs that are in the dirt? Or do you treat those like a short hop and try catching them? Obviously off speed and breaking balls in the dirt I’ll teach to block. But the fastballs have that back spin, and they tend to skip across the ground, rather then bouncing up into the chest.

What do you do when you have pitchers who make you keep the glove as a target over the strike zone? They don’t like when you drop the glove to the ground for framing.

Tell them they are free to throw it at your face instead

We have encountered the same thing on my sons 9U team. My wife was actually confronted by another parent. I told the player to try to have his pitch beat my sons glove to the spot. No more complaining. It's turned into a game inside the game.

Depending on what age they should have enough time to drop it and bring it back after the pitcher throws. I always wanted the glove just at knee level and once I started my windup my catchers would drop it
