Hey nuke, a pilot here. The mama bear entry with the plane can be explained. In a small plan like that you can fly at essentially zero knots or even fly backwards with a combination of nose angle on the plane, low engine power, and the flaps extended. At that height there will always be wind so that could explain the sign staying stiff. There’s about 8 hours worth of fuel in the small Cessna I flew. Can’t tell what’s being flown here. Keep up the awesome content!

I was looking for this comment. I'm getting tired of people thinking planes are a "glitch in the matrix." I understand that not everyone knows what causes it, but people really need to remember "mundane before magick." If they'd say something like, "Now, Idk what's going on here, but I'm sure there's a pretty simple scientific or mathematical solution to this, so if someone knows what this is, please explain it to me like I'm 5," it wouldn't be so bad; especially because there's so many videos like this that go viral on Tiktok and other social media platforms. Anyway, thanks for being the one who points it out this time!

She's freediving, it's a sport to see how deep and for how long someone can hold one breath underwater. You need to do training in order to be safe, and have a buddy when freediving, as doing it alone is very dangerous. I have read stories of shipwrecks on the Great Lakes where divers reported hearing voices and even the engines still going, which is bizarre. There are reports that in September 1980 when Jacques Cousteau's team were inspecting with a submersible, the Edmund Fitzgerald wreck, they observed lights in the pilothouse, even though all the windows in the pilothouse are smashed.

The plane not moving is a normal but terrifying experience. What happened was that the wind speed is moving at the same speed as the plane. They’re going opposite directions so they counteract each other. It’s a very scary experience for the pilots because if they slow down or dive, the wind will throw the plane into extreme turbulence. The pilot was probably waiting for the winds to slow down.

Explanation for the plane stuck in mid air: The plane is encountering a strong headwind that is cancelling out it’s forward motion, but because it still has air moving over it’s wing surface it is able to stay aloft. However if the pilot from that spot, they may stall their plane and crash, so they just have to stay there until they can forward relative motion again. There’s a lot of videos of this phenomenon.

About the plane one, it's really quite simple, from an article: Actually, the planes that seem to be just stuck in the sky are optical illusions. Aircraft carriers frequently go through headwind and tailwind. While a tailwind blows in the direction of the aircraft, a headwind blows against the moving direction of the plane. Due to very strong headwinds, the airplanes look like they have ceased moving but in reality, are moving very, very slow. The buoyancy of the aircraft is not affected. Long story short, wind blows hard, plane rides wind, stays put
@LMason-qd7sq2 жыл бұрын
The plane not moving can sometimes be performed on a really windy day, if the nose is tilted high enough (close to a power-on stall) so that thrust and force of the wind sort of cancel each other out; it looks like it's slowly crabbing in the air, but what is odd is the banner not moving, but the wind could be that strong and the pull of the plane canceling it out too...Maybe...
@SabeFett2 жыл бұрын
Came here to say this. I actually saw this happen in the sky with a plane on my road trip last week and I freaked out and pointed it out to my husband. He works with planes and pilots at his job and he said “Oh yeah, that happens sometimes when it’s really windy. Weird huh!?” So while it’s super weird & creepy looking, it’s not a glitch nor is it paranormal 🤷🏻♀️😅
@BobNinjaCat2 жыл бұрын
@@SabeFett Adding to this, the banner is light enough that if there is a strong enough wind, it would also look immobile since, y'know, the pilot is clearly flying against the current and the banner lacks enough width and weight to resist.

Saw this in person. It was very windy that day. I almost took my phone out to record but just assumed it was a skilled pilot. I saw him a while later, fighting the wind a bit more and that made it more obvious.

@peridusk61282 жыл бұрын
He mentioned other people recording it and just didn't show them? Totally fake
@macair7472 жыл бұрын
@@muimotion Because the airplane and banner are part of the air mass. Like CZ mentioned, the plane and banner are actually moving forward (probably in slow flight, around 70 knots ish...maybe slower) but the air mass is moving the opposite direction (at 70 knots) so their ground speed is 0. Objects in the sky don't feel the effects of "wind" like they do on the ground. Another example is a balloon being held by someone on a windy day. It'll be getting knocked around until the person lets go of the string, then the balloon becomes peaceful as it floats upward and moving across the ground with the airmass. Sorry for the long winded explanation!

The one with the airplane is due to a extremely strong headwind. Banner tow aircraft like that tend to only fly around at 70 to 100 kts so a strong enough headwind would cause it to look like its not moving. Some aircraft in particular fly slow enough that in a strong headwind they can actually fly backwards, most notably the Cessna 150 and 152. Also, Nuke, absolutely love your videos! They genuinely make my day.
