I'm honestly surprised and a bit sad that he didn't even mention star trek legacy, then again it's not very well known but I do recommend it, it has a unique campaign that spans from the enterprise Era all the way to the TNG Era, it has the voices of kirk, Picard, Jane way, Sisco and archer all voiced by their TV counterparts, it's pretty unique among star trek games and is one I sadly don't see get much love or talked a lot about but I will say this that I have subscribed to this channel to help it grow

There was another great ST game that was like Age of Empires (sort of). You took over planets, added power planets and farms, and space staions above the planet, and start building ships. Star Trek: The Next Generation: Birth of the Federation You fly the ships to new planets and sometime run into random events. You do away missions, with your crew, and they level up. Was just a lot of fun, and time. This plays a lot like Empires, because you can choose your race, and there are like 7 races in the game, all with different goals, and personalities. Can't remember the name, was like Star Trek Galaxies, or Generations, or something. Back around 1996 I remember playing it at my mom's home. there was also star trek away team. Star Trek: Legacy

I'm being recommended this a year later. There were three Star Trek games like "Age of Empires" at the time. The Turn-Based "Birth of the Federation", Interplay's "Star Trek: New Worlds" set in the TMP era, and Activision's Star Trek: Armada set in the TNG Film era post "First Contact".

Thanks dude! The main reason Armada isn’t in here is because I really don’t like RTS style games and am absolutely terrible at them. I DO plan on doing another Top 5 ST Games video sometime though, because there are a few more I’ve been wanting to play that look really good

Star Trek Legacy was a great game but I have to agree as an 11 year player of STO (Star Trek Online) that it was definitely a good #1 choice.

I miss ST: Online... I hit a "wall." I was given a mission where I had to confront the Voth. I tried everything I could think of, but they took me apart like I was nothing. I guess I just needed to get better shield generators. My weapons were adequate. Also, I loved the original series games. I didn't like Final Unity as much, but it was OK. And you're right, doing everything perfectly in the original series games took me several playthroughs.

I was running Tac/Tac, or Tac/Cruiser. Those Delta Quadrant missions were something else, though. I did switch to Tac/Science to fly the Intrepid (USS Voyager). At one point I think I configured a 360 beam on the nose, and had nearly all of my weapons aft facing and just ran from the enemy ships. Somewhere in the Delta Quadrant is a mission where you can earn a call for reinforcements. The Sci Captains also have holographic ships. Put a Sci captain in a Galaxy class with saucer separation, and you can get a pretty sizeable fleet going.

I love Star Trek online I can really only play on the ps4/ps5 due to my pc being crap (not to say I can’t play it on there it runs well but not optimal) Ps: Star Trek legacy is an absolute good game to the point I am particularly convinced that Star Trek online took the gameplay from it enhanced it and applied it to the ship gameplay. There are 2 problems with the game though 1. The overarching story in the campaign is garbage while individual missions are awesome 2. Once you beat the campaign unless your on pc with mods there isn’t much else you can do you do have a scrimmage mode where you can set up fight but it get boring fast

I played a bit of the PS4 version quite awhile ago and it’s almost like a bit of a different game. I honestly commend them for redoing the experience to make it play better on consoles with a controller

I can't believe you didn't add Sega Genesis's Star Trek TNG! NOT to be confused with the same game as the SNES's version that was subtitled: "Days Of Future Past" as the Genesis port is way more superior in terms of gameplay mechanics. The story, graphics and everything else is the same but the Sega port allows you to walk and fire your phasers at the same time just to name ONE thing out of many that for some reason, wasn't in the SNES port. That game is truly AMAZING and you can fully explorer space and planets at your leisure, has a rich history database in the games computers, its just a really good game for its time. The people who made it where truly TNG fans and knew TNG fas would play it. It wasn't a quick license cash grab like that awful platformer based on DS9. When it came to 99.9 percent of licensed games from the 80's and 90's, they unfortunately stank up the home console market for years, leaving licensed games a bad taste in the mouth for gamers, with do cause! That game is not only a true classic Genesis hidden gem but a GREAT Star Trek game with ARPG elements with ground and space battles all in real time. Your communications take a massive beating in your last space encounter? Answering or sending a hail from On-screen suffers where you can't really see who you're talking to nor understand what they are saying until you fix it. Explorer lost civilization ruins and if you have Data or Lt. Commander La Forge in your Away Team party, you may see things that other team members cannot. For a 16bit game, its full of really great things.

Quake 3 engine actually. Developed by Raven who used to be an excellent studio. Mostly shooters but they did other good stuff like X-Men Legends. Now they are stuck in the COD mines. Barf

Bridge Commander is easily #1 for me because it lets you be the captain. Second is Star Trek Online, because it lets you experience being a part of the Federation. I don't really care about Star Trek shooters, because ST was never really about violent conflict resolution.

Elite Force , both were decent but first was better. Armada series was great. Bridge Commander was perfect. Legacy was decent. Online is decent. And Starfleet Command was really good , all three parts. Starfleet Academy was fantastic and Klingon Academy was even better.
