The most impressive show of arm strength I ever saw was Elway’s throw to Ken Margerum against USC in 1980. I never saw a professional throw equal it, not even by Elway himself. He threw a 70-yard, cross-field frozen rope, while on the run. It spent shockingly little time in the air, and it knocked Margerum onto his back. It went over the head of an astonished Ronnie Lott, who’d parked himself at what he thought was the maximum distance that a quarterback could throw. To this day, Lott simply shakes his head at it. The second-strongest arm, in my estimation, belonged to Jay Schroeder, believe it or not. He was erratic and his career was short, but good grief, he slung it.

I highly doubt this, 75-80 yds is probably the human limit for loose ball throw, no wind. Aaron Rogers has longest completion in NFL real game at 68.5 yards. And PJ Walker has longest touchdown completion at 67.7 yards, which broke Randall Cunninghams 1987 TD record throw. There are only 20 NFL completions exceeding 62.5 yards, and Aaron Rogers has 4 of those. Mahomes only has 1 but it was in a preseason game, not a real contest. I'm a huge Chiefs fan and although I consider Mahomes to be the best QB to ever live I still feel Jeff George, JaMarcus Russell, and Josh Allen are the strongest arms the NFL has ever seen.

No... Not even close. 1) Jamarcus Russell 2) Jeff George 3) Jim Hart 4) Josh Allen 5) Mathew Stafford 6) Michael Vick 7) Brett Favre 8) Dan Marino 9) John Elway 10) Warren Moon

Millennials who watch football believe that the NFL and football was invented after they were born. There was football before 1993.

Jeff George. Played for crap teams. Clubhouse poison. Cannon arm. He had the quickest release I've ever seen.
@theesotaricitalian63387 ай бұрын
He had a cannon no doubt but Dan's release was faster. He had an Arm almost as strong as Marinos without the accuracy.
@HAL9000s37 ай бұрын
@@theesotaricitalian6338 You are correct. How does one throw a frozen rope 50 yards or more? Dan Marino sure could. I wonder if anyone has looked into scientifically analyzing quickness-of-release, ball speed, distance thrown, etc.

YOUNG MATT STAFFORD.

I sitting there wondering who could possibly be 1st and of course they dick ride Mahommes. Should’ve guessed it. Honestly it’s a toss up between Joe Flacco, Jamarcus Russell(who was strangely absent), and Jay Cutler(who was also absent). My money is on Jamarcus, we’ve NEVER seen any like that before, dude had the best arm in the history of mankind which means he had the potential to be the greatest qb of all time but unfortunately he didn’t have the work ethic to match it. Honorable mention: Matthew Stafford

Dan Marino has to be on Any Strongest Arm List. I think Herbert's Arm might be the strongest in the NFL today, Ive seen orher guys throw 60 plus but he hit a 70 yard slant to a reciever in stride where the reciever didn't slow down or anything. I only seen him and Dan Marino do that.. Also if uts just About Arm Strength and nothing else JaMarcus Russell might be up near first with Dan Marino. Warren Moon had an absolute Cannon and Jeff George Also had a cannon with no accuracy.

Sad analysis. Let's start with the logic of leaving, say, Vinny Testaverde or Randall Cunningham off the list. Back in the day, when the Pro Bowl was in Hawaii and they had the QB skills competition, Vinny threw the ball 80 yards and Randall threw it 79 yards. Not even Farve could top those numbers. I never saw anyone top Vinny's record throw. I've seen nothing that suggests that these guys throw it further then those 2.
@johnbrowntheprophet3 жыл бұрын
Randall Cunningham Michael Vick Warren Moon Jeff George Dan Fouts Brett Favre John Elway Dan Marino Aaron Rodgers I’m sure all of them could throw the ball 70 to 80 yards. As I recall, Cunningham threw a ball 80 yards in one of those Pro Bowl Weekend passing competitions.

@@compxeditz8467 - Of course. I’m mostly listing QB’s from the past with the exception of Aaron Rodgers. Personally, I think Lamar Jackson could probably hurl a football 70-80 yards, too. He looks like he has the arm strength, power, and explosion to throw it that far. Maybe Russell Wilson, too. He has a cannon for an arm as well.

Jamarcus Russel, Terry Bradshaw, John Elway, Randle Cunningham, maybe not in that order. Bradshaw gets left out of most conversations.

Steve Bartkowski could throw the ball 100 yards. Elway is probably up there too.

JP Losman had one of the strongest arms in the NFL. He threw a bunch of 70 yard bombs in his college career and NFL. He just sucked

Dieter Brock, whether people like it or not. He could throw the bigger CFL ball, while on one knee for 50 yards and as far as 93 yards on his feet
