Irish folklore and mythology are truly fascinating and talked about all over the world . Wherever you find an Irish community you will hear tales and stories that will send shivers down your spine. Really enjoyed this Davy and will definitely have me doing some more reading into these. Go raibh maith agat 🇮🇪🍀👍

Davy, I loved these! I'm so curious to learn more about Irish legends. You make them so fascinating .Could you write another book teaching us about these ancient legends and histories? I'm sure that more than one of us would be happy to wait while you write another book.

Fashinated! Thanks for this. You know, David about the Banshee there were a similar legendary women in Sardinia. They were called Accabadora. If someone was really sick far beyond the possibility to heal the family will call them. At nighttime they will take care of their departure.... it tool place up to 1950 then it stopped, perhaps.... If you happen to buy Accabadora by Michela Murgia you'll get more into the topic. ❤

I live in Texas, a somewhat atypical Irish Catholic. My mother had Parkinson's for 11 years. This past year she had hallucinations 3-4 times a week. In those hallucinations, she described whole families trying to get her. She spent the last year utterly terrified during those periods. We did what we could with psych meds, but the situation was a consequence of a decade of carbilevadopa (the primary neurological drug used to treat PD). As such, there was little that could be done. If she went off the PD meds, she would have declined even faster with more worse debilitating tremors. She chose to stay on the PD meds. Now, my mother had been a severe hoarder resulting in me having to clean the house out at great personal cost in time, finances, and health. In the last months, she received the best hospice care we could give her, but she was still haunted several times a week by a family trying to drag her back into the pine trees. In her head, it was the remnants of her Baltimore Catechism childhood and the unresolved guilt over the hoarding combined to create these terrible hallucinations. But in reality, perhaps the sluagh were pursuing her...
