1. It does get a bit dirty. I'm used to it but I can see how this gets on owners' nerves! 2. The infotainment system is a bit of a problem. I have a 2015 and it has the same one as yours. One could go aftermarket I guess but I don't know how to go about that. 3. No center console is a bit bizarre. One can get one to go in there and remedy that situation! 4. The earlier CR-Zs had white seats. Later ones got darker seats (mine has red and black on it). 5. This is the biggest flaw! One could remedy that with a supercharger (HPD dept. did make a kit to boost the CR-Z up quite a bit), turbocharger or a K swap (if one is willing to be bold to put a K20 or K24 in there. Someone once put a Type R engine in one...)

Fellow 2011 owner here! My theory on the center console is that the CR-Z is one of those rare North American market cars that was designed as a manual first with the auto being an option, and chances are the majority of them in the world have a stick. The lack of center armrest gives you plenty of room to shift and actuate the parking brake which is more important when you don't have a P. I believe you'll see the oem and aftermarket center consoles fold up out of the way because of this. I do agree that sometimes I'd really like a perch for my elbow on highway stints!
@boxer9512 жыл бұрын
I think it's more because of the parking brake that they didn't add a center console/arm rest. Btw I actually noticed most crz's are automatic almost rare to see a manual 6 speed.

My sad face thing about my 2013 CR-Z is that it isn’t equipped with Apple CarPlay, which lets cars connected via Bluetooth play without a cable. I have to plug in to play Apple Music or Spotify. And lots of times when I plug in, I get an Unsupported error. I restart the entertainment system to fix the problem. I’ll need to go to an audio shop for a permanent fix. $$$ For an $18000 USD car I can’t complain. I’ve got 159K commuter miles and have one minor leak to fix. It’s more fun to drive than the 2009 Mini Cv I had previously. Corners and accelerates better than the $29K Mini! And the Mini broke a lot, twice had it towed.

What I hate about it is the limited visibility I get from looking at the back of the car. First off, you can only see 3/4 of the back view plus, if you're driving on the highway with like a not so good weather (like rain and mud), the bottom window is gonna get so dirty that in the end, you're not going to see anything in back, unless a semi is right behind you... I also hate the horn but, its an easy fix... Btw, i prefer to plug my cellphone on the USB port of the radio. If u have apple music or like music that's downloaded directly onto ur phone, its super convenient. U get access to all ur playlists and all ur music on your radio. For the price I'm not to sure what they go for in your area but i got mine with 68k miles for 7k Canadian. and for the mechanics what's amazing about the CRZ is it shares pretty much all its parts with a Honda Fit so everyone should always have the parts for it. With Cali traffic sport cars are just wasted fuel and you can't enjoy them much plus more likely to get speeding tickets.

The main problem you have is buying it with that crappy auto transmission. You obviously hate driving.

Good start honestly but most of what you described are "stock" issues that can easily be fixed Number one: could not agree more, I live in the sticks so its worse for me but I haven't found a good solution myself, mine is black so its harder to notice at 1st but I agree as soon as you pull out of the lot of a car wash it gets dust and crap on the back glass Number two I could NOT disagree more in fact this is one thing I think honda got PERFECT unlike honda at the time it was going away from "kiss"(keep it simple stupid) and putting power everything, unneeded and shitty and privacy and safety issue oe infotainment packages, heated seats, heated steering wheels? I mean really a huge rule of thumb when it comes to this stuff is oe SUCKS its a value addition meant to appeal to everyday consumers and normally an afterthought this is one of the few things where aftermarket isnt as good as oe but FAR FAR FAR better, NEVER buy a car based on this, buy a car based on reliability and the engine I got a 2013 ex for the rear veiw cam but I ONLY did this because it wasnt part of the navi package it was intergraded into the rear veiw mirror which I thought was cool, on of the 1st mods I did was put in a android head unit(NOT THAT ANDROID AUTO TRASH a REAL android head unit) In fact this was on of three major reasons besides the manual sporty aspect and the gas millage I bought this car was the fact it still followed kiss for the most part, I mean hell it doesn't even have power seats(2010 - 2014, the 15 and 16 model years got lots of these crap upgrades) Number three isn't correct I assume you mean a compartment and/or arm rest and there IS a center console that's what that plastic thing were the e brake and cup holder are is called but I agree honda even does that's why they released a oe arm rest it wasnt stock however until I believe the 15 model year but it should have been stock on all model years Number 4 I agree and honestly the only real complaint I have, I have a ex so I have the leather-wrapped steering wheel and seats but most of the seat is made from the same material and so are the "guards" I guess you would call them on the doors they are impossible to clean, they can be "cleaned up" but if you get a stain on it its impossible/almost impossible to get out without HARD SCRUBBING and hard core chemicals Number five is only stock and maybe auto, Ive done quite a few performance mods not just a air cleaner but real mods however I'm still na(naturally aspirated) and I would NOT call this car "fast" as in drag strip killer fast BUT I would say it's very respectable and very quick and a backroad killer to me this matter is subjective and misunderstood the engineering in this car is AMAZING its almost a perfect balance of power and eco and incredibly agile it wont win you any drag races but it rides like its on rails and is more than fast enough to be a beast on backroads mine with tire spin and shifting gets 0-60 in about 6 secs, 10 - 60 in less than 3 seconds and enough power to overtake an asshole that won't let you by on an uphill mnt pass Even a stock 11 with its crappy battery is still reasonably quick on backroads, I have a family member that has a stock 11 and I've driven in many times and while I can say for sure mine has a better turning radius(better wider tires), far less body roll(better not just sporter suspension upgrade) and a better battery and notably more power its stock still comparable just not as fast and tuned So in short for a normal consumer that has no knowledge about cars and doesn't plan on doing any work at all on it I can see your list as good. but the reason Im writing all this is its a shame that these reasons for the most part save the 1st and alongside the fact, its NOT a Prius and gets roughly the same mpg as other hatchbacks that are not hybrids is why it bombed on the market and doesn't have a strong aftermarket scene this car from reading the white papers and having a background in engineering it is cutting edge even to this day as old as it is honda which on the consumer side is normally VERY conservative took a risk with this car and it's sad they won't ever do something like this again, I think alot of people forget because of all the ricer honda civics out there that honda is a VERY well known and respected company in racing in fact Id argue they are MORE famous for their racing divisions than the eco ones like honda civics and the like just not as well known, this car was engineered in part by hondas racing division and the hybrid part was modeled on the insight on of the best and first hybrids to come to market(1999 was the 1st year) years before it was a thing and a year before the Prius while I personally think it was a after thought and crap its one of the few cars that has a "offical" forced induction package that is engineered by HPD and this is a BIG deal forced induction on eco cars is becoming a thing and its not really uncommon for factery tuned proformance cars such as the audi tt to come with forced induction what is rare is it being offered as a offical package and built by a dedicated highly respected racing division and backed by the factory warrenty this car had so much potentioal but people ether thought it was to slow or not eco enough and bought it because it was a sport compact execpting a mustang or a eco car and were expecting a Prius and both sides were disapointed it was nether It may sound like I'm a fan body and in some ways I am, but it's not due to blind loyalty its because I respect the engineering of honda they really were top of the line, but not so much anymore sadly
