few glaring issues with this video. ill explain it for you even tho this is an old video. 1.) for dinos that are not going into the water ignore oxygen stat. 2.) ark does not have recessive genes. if you see a mutation and no stat changes it means you have mutated speed. speed levels exist as a way of showing genetic variation and are essentially hidden. all wild tames will have some stat points allocated into speed that bumps up their level. as for colours its possible to mutate the same colour as the parents, a colour mutation takes a segment colour and rolls in a (wider than wild) spectrum of colours and picks it. 3.) torpidity is different from all other stats it cannot directly mutate but every level a dino has also adds a level of torpidity, basically higher lv higher torpidity. (including speed levels) 4.) if you wanna make super dinos you wanna mutate, and ark has a level cap for dinos on official servers (450). as i mentioned earlier speed lvs are wasted lvs that do nothing but bump up lv and torpidity, so why not remove them? i do this on all of my tames i breed and it verifies almost everything i mentioned earlier. this is done by finding a lv 5 wild dino knocking it out and looking for 4 distinct lvs allocated (eg .1 health 1 stam 2 melee) that means that it has 0 speed stat, tame it with no bonus lvs by punching it a few times. breed this into the line making sure that the 0 is taken by the kids. can also remove oxygen for non marine dinos. example: I breed aberrant Spinos on a legacy server (cos i didnt wanna migrate :p) 901 so i can prove all this is you want. I got my spinos to lv 258 when born with high speed and oxy levels, so i tamed a lv 5 Spino and got lucky it had no oxygen or speed, bred this into the line and got myself a 225 Spino with the exact same stats as the 258. at this point the speed was gone so i bred it back again with the child and got 192 with 650 oxygen. This Spino can mutate much further than the 258 by always breeding it with a 0 mutant parent. it also could be useful on pvp servers for being underestimated. sorry for the long post if you read this far hope it makes sense and helps.

So the only thing I'm confused about is if you have a female with an hp mutation do you also want to get a male with the same mutation and then keep breeding those until u get another hp mutation? Or do u want to breed the female with a hp mutation to the base male with 0 mutations?

I got a really nice Tip from one of my server colleagues - they create folders in the dino inventory with the names of the stats directly after taming. this way they can level them and still always know what the base stats were, in order to breed properly. Ofc you could just do an axcel List, but this way it's always referring directly to the dino. Bit of work though.
@davdev7937 жыл бұрын
Great video, just want to add that a fully imprited dino gets 30% bonus to damage and resistance not 20%. Also the value scales with your imprinting progression so for 30% you gonna need 100% imprinting.

Another tip is that you should give those dinos you want to breed proper names. In a system you understand. For example, I named some Rex "Gen3 F Melee 2MutHS", which means Generation 3 Female, good base melee damage, 2 mutations on health and stamina. So you can spot them much easier in that cloud of dinos without having to crawl through their stats and folders.

I love Ur breeding vids. I plan to let my breeders passively level like Urs, and once their breeding days are over ill turn them into work animals and either neuter+sell with the levels available for the new owner to allocate themselves, or ill then level and use them myself as expendables/sacrifices such as for those test runs against an alpha, for example, or to gather meat/metal/anything when its super dangerous out and I just don't want to risk my good dinos. I don't get why people wouldn't just name their dinos with the relevant stats they want to track. Most of mine are named in the format 'Gender HP/Stamina/Weight/Damage', ex 'M 8659/1200/522/355'. Makes it super easy to track stats at a glance even if your tames get moved around, and the ancestry shows you a mostly complete picture of how stats got passed down.

when we breed, we put folders into the dinos we want to breed later. it helps us keep track of the stats especially after imprinting since imprint stats dont carry over to offspring. otherwise we would have rex's that are 15k health and 500 melee out of the egg.

So I decided to ignore my own advise for a test run of mutation breeding in Ark Mobile by breeding dilos. I can tell what it inherited directly from mom and directly from dad, but there's one stat that's off by a bit. Level 27 Dad has 216.5 melee damage. Level 3 mom has 187.5 melee damage. Level 16 baby has 224 melee damage, 7.5 points more than dad. Ark Mobile doesn't have anything that says if it got any mutations or not. So that's why I am asking you if I got a stat mutation or is this to be expected?
@jtjc49127 жыл бұрын
You kept saying to "jot down stats" and someone else mentioned a folder in the dino itself. I'm assuming you've already been told a thousand times, but just in case, there's a program called ARK Smart Breeding that keeps all that information organized for you (plus a lot more utility). It always drove me absolutely nuts when people would use a wild dino stat calculator and say "my baby has 56 points in such and such" and I'd have to respond "no, it doesn't" and attempt to explain lol. This will also give you the real tamed point values.
@garethscott88887 жыл бұрын
56 points is fucking beast though haha

I like the idea of Ark Smart Breeding, but the way its set up is so awful. Unintuitive, cluttered, just a massive eyesore in general. Usually when I want to organize things, I want it to be neat and understandable at a glance, so I use my own notes when I play. Not to mention that it only works for PC players, which is a huge downside.

So the Dino’s have to wild and have a high level or u can just level them up
@weliftnation24185 жыл бұрын
So if you level them up they will pop a baby with the original level and stats. The level and stats of when you first tame it. So all the new stats won't cross over to make a higher level or higher stats only when there is a mutation. So if you imprint and level the original tamed one is pointless because the baby's will still come with the original stats and level unless it's mutated?
@xSP3CTREx7 жыл бұрын

There is no recessive mutations, when you don't see a mutation in the stats/color, it is a speed mutation. If you check it with a mod like super spyglass, they tend to have 2 extra points in speed. Is stupid, but that's where that invisible mutation is.
@TagBackTv7 жыл бұрын
thats not how it works at all :(
@TagBackTv7 жыл бұрын
The mutation is decided on the dino before the stats or chosen from the parents. put simply, the algorithm can decide to overwrite the mutated stat with the parents stats, this is also why you can breed a dino with a mutated stat and not see it on its baby.
@suckeht21177 жыл бұрын
Weird, I've had hundreds and hundreds of mutations and never had a "recessive" mutation or a mutation overwritten by the parents stat. Only that it's had a mutated stat/color everytime, and if I don't see a stat change or new color, it is ALWAYS been a speed mutation. Like on my Theri the parents have 35 levels into speed, their mutated baby has 37. That is his mutation, everything else he inherited from them. So dunno, I don't believe there is recessive anything, but maybe someday that'll happen to me. For now, never seen it so I'm just gonna stick to it being speed.
@corey60117 жыл бұрын
Would this actually make a difference in the speed of the dino? It would be amazing to focus on this mutation for the arge.
@suckeht21177 жыл бұрын
Corey Unfortunately not at all. This is why people think it's an invisible mutation, because it doesn't change anything about the creature besides it's level. Wild dinosaurs have different speed stats as well, but they don't affect the dino at all. It's silly.

On official servers, max dino level is 449 for tribe dinos, if it hits 450 or higher, it will despawn on next server restart due to a dev spawning a lvl1000 giga on a server and fertilized eggs being mass produced. So even though it would take a long time to mutate your levels to hit that cap, it would be pointless to breed high oxygen food or movement speed, since the levels it takes would actually mean less mutations to breed into that dino on stats like dmg and health. Food can be just stored in the dinos inventory anyway, and oxygen is pointless on land dinos, and movement speed, doesn't actually effect the base speed of the dino unless put in by the tribe in levels. So really hitting lvl 378 from a new born dino, you wouldn't really want to breed it anymore unless its just for dupes. Then you can level it the 71 levels.
@dannyjenkins60086 жыл бұрын
I know it would take a seriously long time, but imagine taking a low-level dino, and just breeding purely the stat mutations into that dino that you wanted until lvl 449. You could have oxygen at the base level, maybe food a little higher just so it's not constantly eating. But then if you only put dmg and health mutations into it. Will be an insane tame lol. But again, on an official server, would take years to achieve. Maybe on a sped up server with offical stats, you should make a video on this and see how long it would take and what insane breeds you can do for dmg and health.

you have helped me and my tribe a lot. i started playing around thanksgiving 2017 my tribe mates have been playing since beta......i am the keeper of the stats.....i pick who breeds with who and am the den mother when raising babies. (yay tribe imprints)- 99% of our babies we do imprint as we try to make sure we can use them if needed. Example our rexes all go to the boss fight minus the head of a mutation line. and my yuti bolted on me before i could mount up....ended up on one of my rexes so got the boosts. :) our rex lines though are fun. Got a stam mutation....first egg from him hatched with the stam mutation and a new melee mutation on top of it. then another line popped with another mutation (passive stat currently) and we have 1 other color mutation we were give but 0 info on base stats so we havent used it yet.

I’m breeding argys and I’ve gone several generations and some will have have 3/20 mutations on mom’s side and 8/20 mutations on dad’s side but NONE of the stats are different from the same level with no mutations and the colors are not different. Can anyone tell me why? Thanks

tbh you can take a pic of there states off the start so you know so you can lvl your dino’s up

4:18 No I believe it can happen, I tamed two 150 turtles and bred them and all the babies had the exact same stats. Maybe they changed turtles or I got a two rare turtles idk

So I usually play ark mobile- I do have it for the Xbox but my younger brothers never really give me a chance to go on so I am still just starting off for my single player worlds- but it is really hard to breed dinos because you can have a max of 40 tames and I’ve had to kill so many tames just to be able to try to breed for mutations. Plus I usually do single player so I can’t just put my phone down and not have the app open to wait for dinos to be able to either breed again or wait for the dinos to grow up. It’d be soooo much easier if at least there wasn’t the 40 tames max thing on mobile.
