Anime Expo 2022 is fast approaching, July 1- July 4, 2022
AX has been in hiatus for 2 years with only giving VIRTUAL Conventions ONLINE, and for the first time since 2019, Anime Expo will be open physically to the public.
Anime Expo 2022 is officially SOLD OUT!
I have been going to AX since 2009, since then I have seen the growth of this convention skyrocket.
I want to give these TOP 5 TIPS for any attendee going to Anime Expo for the first time or veterans who need a friendly reminder.

This was very helpful! It will be our 1st time, Mom and 12 year old! We are going Friday, when do you suggest we arrive to line up? Also, do you know when the covid tent to get our wrist bands will be open too?

Thank you ☺️ 1st time going to Anime Expo?! 🤯 You and your 12 year old are gonna have an awesome time in the convention 😎 If you are going Friday, I would suggest arrive early as possible at least by 7am or 8am. If you got your badge by mail, then head to the COVID-19 protocol area to pick up your wristbands, they open at 6am-11:59pm. If you don’t have your badge then pick that first in the morning and then get your wristband. Once you secure both things, you are ready to enjoy Anime Expo 😆

Ooh this maybe helpful…I live in Southern California and it’ll be my first time to attend the event. I’ve always dreamed about going when I was 14 years old and now I’m 26 and finally had the funds but unfortunately I didn’t have the money for a hotel or Airbnb.

Parking is insane. We stayed at the Westin Bonaventure which has free buses rides every 30 mins to the Anime show 7:00 am to 7pm. I had the 4 day pass and only went 2 days because so many people. i think maybe 100k. My kids and couldn’t t really enjoy. My tip is don’t go too early because everyone has the same idea so all the lines for everything is just so long. We went later in the afternoon and the lines to get in was a little bit shorter and easier.

does anyone know how it works if youre not vaccinated? Are there covid testing stations over there or do you get a covid test 1 day before the start of the event?

If you are vaccinated, you need to provide a negative covid test. So far I haven't gotten word that AX will provide Covid testing stations, I would try to find one ASAP at least 1 day before DAY 1 on Anime Expo. Hope this info helps. 😊

I actually have my physical badge since it was mailed in the mail…. do I have to get into some badge check line or is it just the COVID check one….? ( first timer ) also can I just go in after the wristband or….?

If you got the badge by mail, make sure you activate it at home. Once you do all you have to do is to go get your wristband (bring your vaccination card and ID)

what is a relatively good amount of cash to bring? i got my wrist band and badge today and i will be attending on saturday; what time would be the best to get to the convention center? i will be going at around 1:00 pm , just wanna know if that’s a good time

I would say a good amount of cash to have is $500 for one day because of all the merchandise you wanna buy as well the food you will spend on. Best time to get to the convention center is at 8am to be inside of the convention. At 1pm the line to get inside the convention should not be that bad and should be ok 👍 Hope this info helps 😄

Dont bag checkers usually take away the snacks you bring in from outside? This happened alot in past years.

From my past experience, I didn’t have a problem. I brought homemade sandwiches, chips, granola bars etc. I never had my snacks confiscated. I know you can’t bring a huge cooler but that’s about it.

Thats really unfortunate 😔 I would try to sell them to legit buyers who are willing to buy them from you. You just make sure the badges are already activated so there won't be any problems.

Do you have to wait in the bag/no bag line first or to pick up the badge first

If you have to pick up your badge, they will have the bag in the same line on Day 1. Unfortunately Day 0 they didn’t have bags or programs available.

Where is the best place to park?

Best place to park are either the parking lots close to the Metro Train station (Pico Station), those parking lots are outside and about 1-2 blocks away from the convention center and are reasonable. If you have money to spend you can parking inside the convention enter but it again it’s pricey.

Lol masks, ax can't police that at all. Who here really thinks that AX have enough staff to police that. That's like 1 staff member per couple thousand people. Honestly a lot of people including me are gonna take it off when they get inside.
