1. block high & react low OR block low & react high . Does depend on opponent characters using 2. Never really look at ur own specific character. U have to find out what u need to defend against. 3. Know when they can dragon rush 4. Know which character can command grab . If see brolys arm or jirens go up immediately JUMP 5. dont reflect everything. be patient

One thing people don’t explain is the spark Vanish cancel. If you hold the input while vanishing, your character will not attack and can instead lead to other attacks such as lights, heavy’s, dragon rush.

I'll say every tip is amazing, I have been doing most of them they do work, one thing that can help a lot of people when it comes to lows and highs is look at the opp feet, if they are not on the floor then is most likely an overhead but if they are glued to the ground is likely a low. Of course there are a few characters that brake this rule, for example GT and Kefla but character knowledge plays a big part on blocking

I know this will sound like the easiest way of undermining the potential of this game but that's what I genuinely believe is the real issue with it. I've been playing fighting games for years and with games like Killer instinct where you can perform ridiculously long strings, there's an efficient defence mechanism called combo breaker where the game gives you a chance to work out what button to press in order to break a string. DB Fucking Z doesn't offer anything and it isn't even true to the anime in that respect. I basically purchased a game where everytime I get cornered I have to wait till my opponent has finished their endless combo and guess whether to block high or low while millions of flashing lights and fire balls are striking and if I miss one hit, just one hit, it's a festival of punches and kicks your character gets and you can't do anything to stop it . Are we really supposed to enjoy that ? lol I'm sorry but the graphics of this game are amazing, the music is outstanding, the characters are great but gameplay wise it's easily one of the worst fighting games I've ever played but this is my opinion and I respect anyone who has a different opinion

they're likely doing whats called "meaty attacks" . this is when you hit the opponent wit hthe last few frames of your attack and people tend to use this on people getting up off the ground known as "wake up". lets give an example with really easy numbers to paint the picture. lets say you get knocked down, you opponent might throw out an attack that lasts for 10 frames. so in other words the move has 10 frames to hurt you. now lets say you wake up "get off the ground and stand up" on frame 8 of your opponents attack, well they still have 2 frames to hit you. your only option is to block in this case because you dont have any moves that are faster than 2 frames (other than full invincible moves), so if you mash, jump or do pretty much anything other than block or reflect you're going to get it
