alright, youtube recommendations. good tips so far, the last one is, as said, the most important. From what ive learned is, that if someone thinks you are worth raiding, you will lose. there is no "unraidable", only "how much pressure till the base breaks". I got some more tips i learned over the years: 1) Have secret stashes, if you are active enough upload the wealthy stuff 2) if you think someone is showing intrest in your base: upload your stuff, focus on uploading CP and Gunpowder! (if they raid you, they will most likely craft your resources into wealthy low weight items, prefering stuff they need for their next raid) 3) try building on the least busy place, think about what part of the map you are unfamiliar with, uneven parts where no one walks through 4) do not build in caves or commonly known rat holes. ppl want this for themselves or ppl cant see inside and want to see what you have 5) never forget inside turrets. do not build your greenhouse on the roof. make sure there are no hiding spots from your turrets. 6) keep in mind: your base is not safe. never. if you try to look poor, ppl will raid you because its easy. if you make a lot of defence, ppl raid you for resources. If youre hiding, someone knows the spot already and looks there because he a) wants it or b) wants your stuff 7) ally with other tribes in case the alpha gets wiped. Ive been in big pvp tribes, they focus on raiding the alpha and then wipe everyone else. doing this is getting hard as soon as they have to fight on different places, especially when everyone is alarmed, prepared and ready to fight back. PvPler do it for the fight itself, they probably will enjoy the resistance. they will not give up. but it will take longer.

On a death wall or towers you should have 50% tek and 50% heavy’s and on chandeliers you should have 65% teks and 35% heavys. 20% tek turrets and 80% heavys for ground turrets. Heavys turrets do damage and tek turrets make it harder to soak the heavys

the tek to heavy ratio changes based on what the main risk to the base is so that is why no one has a perfect ration. Also depending on what dinos they can use to soak since different dinos take different amounts of damage per shot from each turret. a extreme example of this would be rock golems GREAT vs normal turrets but TRASH vs tek turrets. every dinos in the games takes different amounts of resistances to them so its important to know what you will be fighting and balance your turrets with that in mind. Also i have a tip for you if you build in a cave make sure to make it so people cant just walk into your base since that means all i have to do to scout it is disconnect my internet and walk past all your turrets and then make a plan based of what i have seen. And yes i have tested it for god sake dont even ask i have 8K hours i know what i am talking about enough to at least know the basics of ark. Also manas can teleport using the same trick but this does not work well in caves >:)

As a new player, being an old man and retired, I can devote a lot of time to playing it. It's taken me weeks to figure out the setting in such a degree, that for the most part, my various settings depict how an average person who for what ever reason found themselves on a planet not just a portion that the game offer called a map of particular size. I've tried numerious and various server's both public and private. And always found there settings to be too unrealistic. Thus with the expetion of one mode that adds people, I play by myself in single player, basically a vanila game. I enjoy playing in such away that in addition to eeking out an existence, and building numerious "bases". I spend the majority of my time exploreing the various absolutely beautiful maps. It would seem that the majority of all other's which I've found to be considerably younger (I'm almost 73) spend most of their time in search of or avoiding pew pew with other players. I've had servers which allowed others to join and always end up kicking them out. Recon it just human nature for most to seek and destroy, so I just play solo.

Eh yes and no. They tend to check the common and good rat hole locations. But if you choose a spot that can be a pain to build in or people generally just don't use the spot it tends to get missed alot. Was on a server for about 2 months as a solo in a rat hole, quit the server came back 3 months later and my base was still there meaning no one found it cuz they would've decayed it by then

Or just have 1 or 2 autos set on wild only for taking care of any rockets, grenades etc and have the ratio as you want, more heavies = more dps, more tek = longer time for enemies to soak your defences dry sence heavies does more dmg to alot of soakers but only shoot 1450 times til they're dried out, and tek turrets do more dmg towards golems but less towards tek dinos, but also has explosive dmg that make your defence harder to drain while mounted, it do shoot 2500 times however which makes it more of an endurance turret than power turret. My suggestion with all this in mind would be to have a deathwall of roughly 4-5 layers, but in the middle of each side have 1 auto that's set on wild only for rockets etc. The 1 top layer set on players only, the second top layer set on players and mounted only, the other 2 or 3 set up players and tames. Having 3 turrets on the bottom layer set on low tames and players incase they've soaked it all and tried to send in dinos with c4 on them. This along with a ratio of 2 heavies 1 tek or 1 heavy 1 tek depending on which map you're on, aberration i would choose 3 heavies 1 tek bcz it's harder to get element over there. Ofc, have velos, fence support infront, and cables infront of it, maybe even a reaper or 2bcz when they die they do dmg to anything near them, and is harder to kill, have bloodstalkers in the roof on aggressive that will pick people off the tames and have the turrets kill the player. One funny thing to do is to mass tame turtles and lvl them all in health and block the while cave with them, insanely annoying having to kill them all to make space to soak

Bro, the turret thing is a load of bs, the rest is spot on, u want a ration of 2 tek to 1 heavy, but the heavy should be placed on a lower range than the yeks and on players only, allowing them to still shoot rockets before they get the teks but not shooting enemy soakers...

do not do this!!! never put turrets on medium they can just tek rifle medium turrets so having turrets on medium is pointless they just soak ur tek then tek rifle all your heavies for free arb =P what you should do instead is set your heavies back from where your teks are placed i.e the backside of the hatch frame or the ceiling the hatch frame is placed on as to spread out your turrets in case of rocket runs and to separate tek and heavy soaking which you were trying to achieve i also do not agree with his idea of how many turrets he has on hatch frames i never put more than 2 turrets on a hatchframe so that you dont loose 4 turrets everytime a hatchframe gets rifled down

6th tip. Don't tell anyone anything you don't need them to know. That does for non-tribemates and tribemates alike. Say you get a new recruit and you have them farming. But there are beds they can't access at spots you're tribe is holding that they don't even know about yet. That's fine. You don't have to give them the grand tour. You don't need them to know any of that before it becomes relevant. Try to avoid talking in global. You don't need potential enemies to know when you're active vs. just logged in streaming logs or something. Only time you should talk in global is to give someone your discord name & number. And only when you know that there are no enemies are on server. Have different routes you take to base and switch them up. Never meet anyone not in tribe at base (have them set meeting coords) or tell them where your base is. Limited and compartmentalized information is key to keeping secrets. Keeping secrets is key to staying hidden longer and to taking less of a hit when you are found.

i remember one time some alphas came and wiped me with tek when all I had was stone and they made fun of made and acted like they were the best ark players ever, i spent every night for a week farming for wires(blue zone in abb) then one night I hid about 10000 flexible wires in really tiny clusters all around the server in what must have been about a thousand different spots

Tip I’ve learned over time is to set one or two autos to wild dinos (even if you have tek) if you are in a cave where wild dinos aren’t going to be showing up and they will still shoot rockets and be nearly impossible to soak

Tek Turrets shoot the player off the tame cuz of the splash damage if ur able to fill the tek turrets i recommend goin for 60 heavys 40 tek turrets also i would put the heavys at the edge of the hatch frame so they actually shoot the rockets out of the dead angles Heavys do more damge then tek turrets tho

Great vid. Pipes work well against offline raiding, but not online Tek turrets are not just for golems, almost no1 uses golems on most servers unless early game wich is only for the first maybe 4 days of a wipe, they are also to deal knock back to players and some dinos, they also shoot riders of stego's with the splash damage and they do more damage than heavy turrets. On top of that they also take 2 rockets to destroy in caves instead of the 1 for heavy turrets (only ground turrets). And usually people c-spin or owl dive in a cave for wich tek turrets are better than tek turrets because of the knock back and that they do more damage. The only real treat is a laggy server and a tape rush.

Recently shot through someone's flexible pipes as visibility blocker with rocket. It went straight through; it didn't get get stopped by the pipes. Background: Playing on Unofficial server. Practically official server settings for structures. Basically, don't believe that flexible pipes block rockets.

best spam is a mix of square metal foundations with 1 pillar and a ladder attached and stone triangle foundations with fence and wood ladder as mek's cant clear the stone foundations with regular swing attack they have to use giga and take a long time to clear it or c4 making it a more expensive fob to set up and lots of spikes too if you want to ruin a giga's day

Good tips but I don't agree on having more heavy than tek turrets. Tek is your soaker killers heavies are for rockets and speed because they shoot quicker than tek. Make sure your heavy turrets are set to players only and placed at different angles so that people on stegos can't soak all of them before the tek kills the animal.

So it doesn't auto decay as fast. If you snap something to a structure the timer of how long it takes to auto destroy. With no snaps it is 12 hrs with a snap it is like 24 hrs I think
