Here’s a tip for beginners in the game that want to get ahead. As soon as you permanently get a horse (after the first battle with Runt and the end of the prologue), return to Skalitz. This may seem counter intuitive, as Skalitz is usually crawling with Cumans and Bandits with high level armour that are near impossible for a low level player to beat, but just hear me out. At Skalitz, Bandits and Cumans are constantly battling with each other. Almost every time you show up to the town, you’ll see enemies battling each other in the middle of the town. Stay back and stay hidden. Watch the enemies battle from afar, and wait for one or more of them to be killed. As soon as they stop battling, the winners of the skirmish will usually loot the weapons of the dead, and then walk away. Wait for them to leave, and then sneak up to the bodies. Loot all of their expensive and high level armour and supplies, and then transport it to your horse (you don’t need to be right next to your horse to do this). Then, pick up and carry as much as you can by yourself, and quickly leave Skalitz. There is a chance that one or more of the hostile NPC’s could come out suddenly and try to shoot an arrow into your back as you’re walking away, so leave as quickly as you can. Get on your horse, and ride like Hell away from there. Get to a major town with a vendor that carries a lot of Groschen (I recommend either Sasau or Rattay), and either sell all of the armour and get a ton of Groschen, or take the armour to a armourer/tailor who can repair them (this may cost a lot, so you’ll need to have at least 1,000 Groschen or more to repair some of the high level stuff to perfect condition) for you to wear. I did this during my playthrough, and I had to try multiple times (as I kept rushing for the bodies too quickly and I ended up getting swarmed by the Bandits and Cumans), but it was worth it, as I made about 1,000 Groschen off of selling all of the armour (I didn’t have enough Groschen to repair most of the armour), which really helped me get ahead. Trust me, this advice will most certainly help make your play through easier and more fun.

It's marked as stolen because you're poaching on someone's territory. At least that's my reasoning for why it's marked like that. Hunting is reserved for the rich and nobility during that time.

Ryjak hunting of any animals is poaching and shows up as theft. All the animals in each territory are ‘owned’ by the nobleman and you’d need a proper licence. If you take it to a fire and cook it though, it no longer flags up

Lunar Bro no that’s false, I found it’s random. At my point in the game, I’m fully geared out to the point where the armor Smith’s have no more upgrades for me and I still fight unarmored bandits. Early in my game I was fighting bandits with plate and cumans decked out in chain.

1. Any of the three millers can “launder” gear you want to keep.2. No need to summon your horse or be near it to access it’s inventory.3. PC players should download the save without Schnapps mod. Even if you like the limited save gameplay there are enough bugs atm that you should be able to save and reload whenever you need to.4. PC players can type wh_pl_showfirecursor 1 in the console to give you a basic aiming point for your bow.5. You start as a nobody with no skills, everything you do you will suck at. Keep training and eventually you will become very powerful.

They've essentially designed it so that you have to remove your armour and dress like a peasant/noble - whatever clothing you have while you're in the cities so that you have better interactions with the NPC's, that has to be one of the most immersive thing's I've ever seen

Tip here for dealing with stolen goods - Talk to Theresa's uncle (he's in white and living in Rattay's Mill, now if your play this game you'd have encountered him already) -There is a door near the house with a hard lock on, inside that door is a very hard locked chest ( lockpick it, move all your stolen goods inside said chest). -Now go outside and talk to Peshek (Theresa's uncle) and trade with him. -You can now see all of the stolen good that you put inside the chest earlier now have been properly "launder" -Buy back all of them (this will cost alot of money, but don't worry) -Go back to the chest and loot all of the money you've just spent. -Wabammm profit.

I almost always loot the ones I kill and take what I want and never had a problem with rep also if something is marked stolen it will lose stolen over time so just leave it in your house in your chest till then and your good to go on selling it with no rep lose and no trouble getting as much as you can out of it

Sneak archer is possible in this game. Max stealth, poisoned arrows (start gathering the better piercing arrows with 150 dmg add bane poison which adds 100dmg). crouch when using your bow, make sure you are far from your target. If your target gets alarmed ( you are prolly near) they will be at first trying to figure out where you are, that is your bonus shot, if his nearby ally gets alarmed they will do the same and do not yell alert others instantly, this is another bonus shot, always aim at the head, they go down quick. If they get alerted move away from where you first fired your arrow, if only comes to you make use of the bushes or trees to hide and stealth kill the searcher, if they spot you instantly you didn't do it right. Sneaking, check your garments noise value, everything you wear should be zero noise. Attack bandit camps at night use Nighthawk potion. Take out the guard patrolling the camps first so you can enjoy killing people asleep. Dogs are the hardest to locate, always listen if the bandits have dog, move around the camp for better shot make sure to kill the dog where it won't be discovered because you can't grab their corpse and move them.

Bandits and cumens are most often the exceptions. Since Cumens are enemies of the realm and Bandits are universal outlaws. However, if you ever loot a townsperson it can literally wreck your entire rep in an instant... not sure if its a glitch but for some reason peoples spidey senses tingle and they then hate you super fast. (even when it appeared that there were no witnesses.)

In reference to stolen goods there is a way easier way to remove the stollen status from meat or any cook-ables. Just cook with them. The end product will not be considered stolen and can be sold to many types of traders. Also it will retain durability better.

If you're properly spaced from an opponent, you can be far enough away to dodge a second strike but close enough to land a stab. Just make sure you hold down the defend button to make sure their first hit doesnt land!

My tip for new players: Ditch the longsword a bit(still train with it if you want to use it later) and use a mace/warhammer/axe and shield, you will find it easier to deal with opponents early even when Henry is basically useless. The idea is you have to think less about chaining strikes and doing combos with them, and instead just get a few good openings where you can smash their face in.

Well.. learn to parry and after that, you can bring fists to a sword fight if you want. Everytime they try to attack you, parry their attack with your perfect block with auto attack back on them. Usualy it takes 2 of those to kill the oponente, but i even had some engagements where one parry kills him and it also looks badass.

I watch these older videos of KCD and combat seems fun. I don't know if they fucked something up, but it doesn't matter what weapon I use, where I hit, feint or not, they parry my fucking attacks 99% of the time and when my attacks do land, it's like hitting them with a pool noodle.

The combat is incredibly difficult with a steep learning curve, both literally and in the skill progression itself. A lot of KCD fans seem to brush it off as lazy people not being willing to learn but it can be really jarring for it to remain that difficult for that long

Great video. On #4 An easy way to keep your armor on and keep your charisma up, is to invest in maintaining your gear. This gets easier and cheeper the more coin and the higher reputation you have with a town and a certain vendor. You can also use the grindstone yourself for a cheaper option. I'm on PS4 Pro as well and i've 3-4 minor graphical bugs in 56 hours and 2 quest-bugs. Minor Spoilers ahead... The millers quest-line bugged for me when after his first mission i said no to doing the second mission. When i then got back to him he offered the first mission again, but with all the objectives completed i had nothing to do, so there are no further line from him. The other is the Nightingale-mission that i hear is VERY buggy for many...

Randi Knight depends on the item value. If it’s worth 1k groschen then it’ll be more like a week. If it’s an apple, it’ll be about 5-10 minutes.

You don't need to "launder" your stolen items. Just store them in your box for a while (a day or so) and they will become yours. You can also take them to another town to sell and they will automatically stop being stolen. 😁💰

Bit of advice for combat, use a bow while mounted on horseback. Most enemies only use melee weapons and can never catch up to someone on horseback. They basically use up all of their stamina chasing you down, while getting peppered with arrows.

Yeah, you would basically be fighting fire with fire. Huns, Avars, Magyars, Cumans and Mongols are all from the Asian steppe and very similar culturally. Horse archery is kinda their thing (as Henry found out pretty early on in game).

Your charisma went up because you took damaged clothing off. It’s not just dirt that makes you look like a peasant, it’s the condition of your fear too. If you repaired your stuff your charisma would have risen. It also seems like you take a hit to your charisma if you wear enemy gear too. Cuman stuff that is

This game is really realistic and I love that. People really need to think what they will do in certain conflicts or situations. I like that you cannot get away with everything and you will be punished for bad behaviour. This game is indeed not for everybody.

For those that don't want to grind for saviors schnaps and just enjoy the game, get the mod where you can always save. I played 30 hours in the last 5 days, after around 20 hours I downloaded the "always be able to save" mod just because my 20 hours of game play could been 13-15 hours (lost one time 2 hours because I glitched into the ground). If you decide to get it I recomment only abusing it to be able to save your game every 15-30 min generally or when you go on a pickpocket thieving spree. Not when you try to take out a bandit camp and save after killing one enemy. Not to see all other dialog options to see the best one. The game is designed so you can celebrate your bad choices and replay the game.

Henry doesn’t need to read to make Saviour Shnapps. As long as YOU know how to read, you can look at the recipe and figure out how to make it - each word in the recipe is scrambled but pretty simple to unscramble word by word. Also, there are six belladonna plants between the Miller and the Tanner in Rattay in that grassy area next to the huge woodpile.

In my game if you wait for a day, it won't be stolen anymore. It is possible that it is connected to completing the main quest but I don't believe so, I think it is time related.

* you can kill anyone you wish without hinderance as long as youre not seen by witnesses and you can take whatever you want off them as well * you do not need to strip naked down to only nobleman clothing to get charisma. You can do just the same with nice clean armor. * the horse doesnt need to be close or called to you to deposit inventory. * beds dont "randomly not save sometimes", they only save if its a bed that belongs to you so you mustved been sleeping in beds that arent yours. * literally never get searched by guards unless you get yourself arrested.

One glitch is the alchemy bench of the "witch" outside of Uzhitz. If you use it it will float you till you cancel and then drop and kill you. Lost 2 hrs progress on that one :/

I've been playing kcd for 3 days and I have won 2 rattay tournaments got a very good horse, armor and a longsword. I have 15 on defence and sword and I know how to riposte. I have just finished the main quest, hunting with Hans Capon.

You don't actually have to summon your horse in order to transfer inventory. Simply go into the horses inventory and transfer

There's no reputation loss for looting items that are not marked as stolen. If the NPC is aggressive, like cuman or bandit, there's no repercussion. The only situation I can think about where looting dead bodies can get you into trouble is the one with the dead traders or dead guards at the random encounters where and guards battling hostile NPCs at the location, but those are marked as stolen.

Here is a tip for clipping through the ground bug. Instead or running upward back to the actual ground. Run down. Look for another hole. If you drop off the map you ll plop back up safe and unstuck. Oddly no fall damage.

Here is my tip. Cheetah perk is better than marathoner perk. They both run the same distance but Cheetah just runs that distance faster so it is 100% better and no one can argue with me about it, though I am sure no one would ever want to.

You can fast travel to get out of a glitch such as stuck on a bush or in a room. I also used fast travel when I was stuck in a bandit camp and was about to get caught.

Not sure if it works differently on PC, but in my experience, as long as you only kill/loot bandits and cumans you don't lose reputation. Also killing/looting people who are isolated (such as wayfarers) does not effect rep, so long as no one sees you do it. Great vids man!

You can loot bandit corpses with impunity. However looting guards and civilians (even if you didn’t kill them) is bad for your reputation if you are seen doing it. Risky actions usually require you to hold the interact button to proceed, so watch out for that.

also if you just store the stolen gear for a few in game days it cleans it as well. I stored some loot while waiting for the miller's wealth to respawn and when i went to grab it for sale it was no longer marked by the red hand. so that's a plus. ended up keeping my fancy armor. I

You can transfer loot from your horse to your inventory in front of the magical box without needing to call the horse

I don’t know what it’s like on the PS4 or the Xbox but on the computer you were able to transfer items from your inventory to your horse without the horse being next to you at least that’s how it works for me you can do it with the horse next to you but it’s not required at least how I’m doing it don’t know that’s a glitch or is an actual feature, you can also lounder items at Miller Pesheck

Next replay I'll focus mostly on speech. Lol. I also learned a lot of things to improve. There is indeed a lot to learn about the game and there's a lot of potential and it's fun. I'm currently playing for the second time I'm about to beat the game for the first time but I've been failing to win in the tourney annoyingly. I guess I have to build my skill in the other weapons I don't use. Lol. I guess there's also some tricks to learn.
