Thank you for making this video about ALERTING vestibular stimuli. Let’s keep in mind that slow/ rhythmic vestibular stimulation is calming and down regulating. Not all vestibular stimulation is alerting. Perhaps you have a video about that.

Yep that's a good point! Linear is typically more calming!

This is so awesome! Thank you for all the great info! Explains a lot about why I feel so alert after swinging. What swing is that bright blue hammock like swing in the video???

Hey Amelia, we went ahead and linked both of our swings in the video, the Blue Pod Swing and the Compression Sensory Swing that you mentioned. The Compression Sensory Swing is definitely a favorite of the Harkla team as well as our Harkla family.

Can a kid be over and under responsive in a day. In morning- kid is very sluggish. Is it under responsive? At times, afraid of spinning on merry go rounds..

Yes! Most of us have mixed sensory needs. Sluggish mornings could be due to under-responsiveness and maybe they need more input to help wake up!

Hi! It sounds like you have an over-responsive vestibular system! Let us know if you have any questions about that or if we can help in any way!

@@HarklaFamily Well honestly I do need help. I'm so sensitive that I find myself avoiding movement, and I really want to exercise. Since I started watching your videos I have started paying attention to the way I walk, and I'm definitely more of a heavy foot. I have tried leaning into it and practically stomping as I walk to increase the proprioceptive input I'm getting and WOW does this help my nerves. But obviously I can't go around doing this as my only form or exercise. I'm trying to incorporate as much heavy work into exercise as I can, but I detest so many forms of 'exercise' probably partly because of this over active vestibular system (which I never could figure out, so thank you so much for these videos!) That I really could use all the ideas I can get

@@rymaru2138 Weight lifting is very grounding and balancing. Just start with anything that feels good to you. Standing lifts like overhead press and squats will give you that feedback like stomping, reverse gravity load into joints. Excellent for developing bone density and keeping it.
