waiting for a map where you can use the highway trucks more often. Like a map with a long asphalted road surrrounded by a bog or something. So, you use the off-road trucks to bring the cargo to the highway trucks, then you take the hw trucks to the delivery spots

The scout 800 is my favourite scout, but ONLY if you attach the 900L scout trailer and fully upgrade. It then becomes much less tipsy (the trailer keeps it pinned down and stops it tipping as much), but also carries good amount of repair points and is fun to drive on terrain while being quite capable - but not so capable that it makes the game easy. And this is WITH the trailer, which it can lug around almost anywhere So it's this perfect combination of range, able to go anywhere but not so easily as to make the game lame. Great car!

Until I found the Tuz 420 Tatarin I only ever used the scout 800 pulling the prototype radar with the Marshall as the pull donkey with great mpg. The Apache I found useless. Has extra fuel but no trailer hitch and much worse mpg than the Marshall with no extra fuel. :D

I liked the 800 on early maps, but once you get into snow, it gets stuck. I can’t have a scout that both tips over and gets stuck. Too many weaknesses

Fun fact, reducing the suspension height on the Scout 800 actually does nothing to fix the bouncing, because the problem with it is that the suspension is ridiculously stiff and makes the car bounce around everywhere regardless of the ground clearance. So you're better off using the raised suspension and the biggest tires you have.

I've actually had good luck with the international scout, I used it to explore most of Alaska when I first started playing but now I just use it as a fun truck to drive around.

Oddly enough, there was one mission where the Don came to the rescue. There was a checkpoint based mission around in abandoned factory, where the checkpoints were all hidden behind obstacles and the Don was the only truck that could squeeze through some of the gaps. That was the first and only time I've ever used the Don. Also, (in a very quiet voice), where is the update?

I ran the Scout 800 with a Scout Fuel Trailer, in my early game, which helps dampen the 800s bounciness, and gives it basically unlimited fuel. Best thing for it, if its your best Scouting truck option at the moment.

I like the Kolob 74941 for hauling everything. It goes through swamps with loaded trailers.. with other loaded trailers dragging behind it on a winch.

Technically if you already have loaded a 4 slot ramped flat bed with a winch you can still use the tatarin to haul cargo and unload cargo because the unloading/loading points in game register the trailer without the truck but only when unloading. Personally i sold both tats and stuck with what i was used to in real life. I drove multiple oshkosh truck types with lhs platforms and such. Saldy. Nothing like that in game but the a azov 5319 with low saddle and crane come close.

I use the tartarin as a tug boat for towing. I'll use a bandit with various attachments and whichever trailer I need attached to the bandit, then I'll just wench it with the tartarin and I can go anywhere I want while hauling as much cargo as I want!

Don 71 and scout 800 totally agree. I find the big kolob quite useful actually, it's helped me out a few times. The royal bm gets on my nerves cos it looks quite good but is quite tippy and even with a snorkel you get depth warnings when you get the wheels wet. It's terrible near any water. It does sound nice though. 😁

@A Tribe Called Cars For scouting the LO4F is absolutely useless, BUT, as a vehicle backpack of repair & fuel + it's comically fantastic party trick of being able to right any default truck back to its wheels makes it a lot more useful than most people think.

@@vladvulcan yeah, but I think you don't need the snowrunner gearbox on it, It has perma diff so the extra low gears aren't really needed, and the free way gearbox is on Smithville Dam too so it's not too far away from the raised suspension for it

You've got the Scout 800 all wrong, as a pathfinder vehicle it's incredible because it's very small and very light. The trick is to *not* lift it. At the stock ride height the center of gravity is low enough that it isn't tippy and it weighs so little that it just dances down any trail. The only thing that slows it down is deep mud, but I still find that it gets through that even better than the lifted Chevy. IMO the 800 is the most fun way to explore the maps, just add tires and go.

I actually use the Transtar 4070 quite often. It works really well on the Alaska maps and as long as you have a flatbed with a load on it, it gets through some of the mud and snow with some effort, but I stick to roads I know aren’t going to be a bear to traverse. I would like some more paved roads that don’t have a landslide or mud pit in the middle of it. The Transtar and CLT 9000 could both benefit from Diff Locks.

I have made videos on most of these trucks. I went exploring in the artic with the Transtar, and I took the LO4F to The Rift, but the only one that has failed it’s mission so far, and that I absolutely hated driving was the Don 71. I like the vehicle but it has no power

The Kolob 74941 is great imo. I sold the anniversary dlc trucks and bought this and the Azov 64131 or whatever number it has and those two trucks were crucial for me to be able to complete tasks or even move at all. The Azov was surprisingly good, even on all terrain tires going through mud and everything stock, while the Kolob allowed me to pull a giant trailer loaded with goods and towing a maintenance trailer eith the winch through Alaska on mud tires and managed to maintain grip. I didn't have any modifications, which means i was stuck on mid low gear all the time, it took me pretty long because of going so slow, but at any moment i felt like i was about to fail. It gave me a lot of confidence through the mission, slow but steady truck. I now have the modded Kolob "bruxa", which is even better, but i kept the vanilla one since it deserves a special spot in my garage. That and the Azov, but i still use it for some tasks, even after having a few mod vehicles. I just used it today to move long logs on the russia region because it has excellent fuel consumption and a fairly big tank, but still towed it to the loading spot to save fuel

I love don 71 His main advantatges are low consumption and being very light, worked very nice for scouting! Also, it can squeeze through really small gaps making it even better. Just avoid deep mud, and get offline winch. If u make sure u have some truck as a mobile base it sure will bring some fun, it can even be loaded with auto crane.

Honestly I don’t really like the Twinsteer. It loves to fall over and has no AWD (as of the end of august) and you can use any other truck like the Tayga with the low saddle for pulling up the same amount of cargo and having more maneuvering because it’s articulated.

I used the Transtar with low saddle as much as I could in Alaska. It still wasn’t the primary truck but it helped. As for the Scout 800, I honestly stopped using the Chevy halfway through Michigan and switched to the Scout because always-on diff lock turned out to be more helpful than bigger wheels, especially on Island Lake and Drummond Island. Go figure.

the loaf isn't bad it just not great in deep mud/snow it says it the description not great in mud but its up sides are way more than its down sides only down side is small tyres its good of road and lands on its wheels most of the time amazing turning circle amazing winch you can use it to pull you through deep water or mud really high snorkel amazing rescue capabilities and weighs so little and roof rack has 300 repair points.

The overlooked but very capable Voron AE-4380. It’s longer wheelbase allows it to have the smaller crane and carry two pieces of cargo. I like it’s Road look and the extra light that you can add on which is very useful when backing up or loading cargo. I do not know why it only has 50 gallons of fuel instead of the tiger having around 90 gallons

The Scout 800 reacts to the physics of the game more than any other truck. For me, someone who loves video game physics, this is what got me hooked on the game to begin with. The yellow and white livery is perfection. True, I stopped using it once I got the tatarin, but if it weren't for the perky little bugger, I don't think I would still be playing the game two years later.

The F-750 is the worst truck, as of now, before the update. Its engine is so underpowered for its massive size, that it bogs down and stalls out on flat ground, let alone a steeply graded hill.

Yeah, the F-750 is largely ineffective at almost everything. It can't pull a greased string out of a cat's butt, because it's so heavy and under powered. It is almost as slow as some of the heavy trucks, and trying to pull any trailer with it is a lost cause. BUT... it is a good repair vehicle. With all of the repair supplies attached, it can repair a lot of damage and it can refuel a lot too.

So I’ve done Alaska Russia and even the new map (that I’ve forgotten the name of) and I’m now starting on Michigan, I’ve done black river smith Ville and now I’m working on island lake, I consider it one of the more pain in the ass maps because of how far a garage is and the lack of a gas station, could you make a video on the best way to do island lake without having to constantly reset trucks because you run out of fuel? Like say use the cats massive fuel tank attachment for a mobile fuel source and other vehicles for repair?

I am running an American-only fleet, in my need-the-greatest-amount-of-developer-loving list: P12 and Longhorn 4520, their torque is only enough to pull themselves over the grade climbing. So my actual high-saddle towing is done by M916A1, a 6 wheeler without mud tires, what a shame! Until now, my fleet still lack proper high-saddle tractor, while Russian fleet has an entire sub-fleet of high-saddle tractors. Blew items are optional: ANK MK38, The picture on the load screen of Pedro Bay - Alaska shows MK38 is towing a heavy duty tanker trailer, which means MK38 used to be capable of frame add-on, but got removed eventually. MK38 supposed to be Tayga king of American fleet. 6900TS, trailer towing and high-saddle towing. In real life, 6900 does has a saddle, just flip it out. Maybe currently the game system doesn't allow it, just let it tow trailers, since there IS a hitch there. 5600TS, why the hell can't 5600TS, a 10 wheeler can't tow high-saddle when the C70, a tiny 4-wheeler can?

The Don 71 should make the top spot since for me it's bugged.. The Don has 6 gears but i can only go up to 5. Then it resets and starts over on the first gear, making it slow down every 5 seconds and restart the acceleration.. wtf?! Is this just me?

The BM17 drove me nuts for like 30 minutes tonight. All I wanted to do was take some service parts from the warehouse in Smithville Dam to the boulders (like a 2 minute drive) and the thing just kept tipping over. I heard it was a decent truck but as far as I am concerned, it’s useless if it can’t stay on its wheels.

For me, the Twinsteer and the P16 are definetely part of the List: Twinsteer lacks the option to pull trailers and for 4 Loading points even the "small" Fleetstar with short trailer (and crane!) is better, if you use the ramp trailer, nearly every offroad truck can pull 6 load points and every saddle truck can at least pull 5 so clearly better P16 can only have high saddle and has no AWD and has only one set of tires, so a lot worse than the Kolob (Phase 2 of course!)

I love the scout 800, but yes. It loves to fall over. It's pretty good otherwise. On maps with fairly flat terrain it's very useful. If it didn't have such a high center of gravity it would probably be the best small scout, if not one of the best.

Honestly all the KOLOBs are useless, get aP16 or Navistar 5000 (high saddle). They can do the same jobs much better and faster. But out of the two KOLOB, the flat nose one is worse. I dunno if they since patched it, but when I used it that underpowered hunk of junk couldn't drag itself out of it's own way.

What do you think of the idea of adding a new map/zone with loads of tarmac. We have zones with snow, we have zones with mud why not a zone with tarmac. A noob friendly map where you can just relax and drive on road.

Lo4f is not tippy if it ever tips it tips back. Most the time scout 800 deserves the list lo4f dosnt it’s not the most capable but it’s the best truck for tipping other things back over.
