How can any religious text (real or not) be observed as the "only" religion to follow (which is what Muslims and most other religions think) with this despicable act. AlhamduliLah, we are blessed with a Kitab that doesn't cause us confusion or distress. I am all for learning from scholars, but I also reckon whilst, that scholars are fallible men too. "Actions shall be judged according to intentions," said the noble prophet (saw). Allah sees the heart that searches for Him in truth. Such a one shall not be misguided in shaa Allah. Also, the seeker has to be mindful of the chiding Allah gave the Christians and Jews in the Qur'an who have taken their priests and rabbis as lords beside Him. A great many of us read through the Qur'an cursorily without doing what it commands us to do - reflect! The aforesaid ayah sounds a cautionary note to Muslims as well, especially when juxtaposed with the Hadith which foretells Muslims falling into quagmires similar to the people of the book. Then there's the quest of things of the ghaib, which some demand answers to rather gratuitously, but which thirst cannot be quenched once set upon that course. An instance of this is the conundrum of whether or not the Qur'an is eternal and had always existed beside Allah - or some such sort of fancy wording. Question is, what do you do with that knowledge? I am content with what Allah has revealed of Himself and to leave idle philosophizing to the idle. May Allah set us all upon the straight path, ameen.

Even if he was mentioning some verses in the Quran that talk about war and he was questioning these verses, you shouldn't hate him , simply clarify for him what seems to be ambiguous .. and btw if you know the Quran well you wouldn't panic .

If you had suggested the verses were from the Hadiths your trick might have been less obvious, as unlike the Quran the Hadiths contain many story-type passages. I would point out what you already know, that 4 out of your 5 passages were from the Old Testament, which are concerned with God's dealings with Israel/the Jews under the old covenant(s). The OT informs Christians, but it doesn't provide a basis for Christian living (nor even altogether for Jews, come to that). The only NT passage you quote is about wives submitting to their husbands, which sounds very outdated, but not shocking (especially when put into its context). The passage from Judges about a concubine being raped tells a shocking story, but it does not suggest that it was righteous and exemplary behaviour, far from it. This is where the Quran differs from the Bible, the Quran purportedly being received directly from God and applicable for all time. And due to the principle of Abrogation the later violent 'revelations' take priority over the more peaceful earlier sayings. But I guess that, as an apologist for Islam it is easier for you to quote violent passages from the OT than to defend the most shocking parts of the Quran.

There's an Indonesian Arab named Ali Mahrus Attamimi who left Islam for Christianity. He said Quran is a fraud. He insulted Islam and Muslims. Do you know how he died?? And there's an ex Christian priest named Mokoginta (I forgot his first name), he reverted to Islam and told that Bible is not authentic anymore. Etc. Paul, I have seen the title of this video like a week ago, and i did not watch it until I watch more content from you to get to know your views about Isalm better, i was really afraid you might insult the Quran because as Muslims we can't not accept such claim that there are bad verses in the Quran as we believe from the deepest part of our heart mind and soul that Allah won't produce a text that is bad in the Quran. Blogging theology is deceiving you...there are also numerous suras inthe Quran like sura 9 that talk about fighting and slaying of idolators and the people of the book(Jews and christians) and disbelievers.

@@obetec8857 if you did your research and not take verses out of context, then you'd know that surah 9 is about a treaty between the Muslims and the pagan Arabs which was broken by the pagan Arabs bc they killed innocent Muslims. Which is why the quran allows the killing of the enemies (in this specific situation) unless they take the shahadah. So even when the enemies were killing Muslims, mercy is still available. Don't pick and choose chapters of the quran without knowing the full story.

Read the verses below: "And when you come across those who ridicule Our revelations, do not sit with them unless they engage in a different topic. " 6:68 "He has already revealed to you in the Book that when you hear Allah’s revelations being denied or ridiculed, then do not sit in that company unless they engage in a different topic, or else you will be like them. Surely Allah will gather the hypocrites and disbelievers all together in Hell." 4:140 I know this video is not an example of that. But since this your approach, then know this is wrong and you have to be worried to not become of those who listen to Allah's words being blasphemed and it doesn't bother them.
