I have tons of survival manuals, first aid manuals, edible/medicinal plants, as week as different military training manuals, as well as nuclear manuals, from what to do, to how to build shelters to protect from radiation, have it in 2 different phones, my main 1, & one in my faraday bag

I do the same but with a Nook Simple Touch. Its e-ink like a Kindle but unlike a Kindle it doesn’t store books on the cloud but is 100% off-grid. Very cheap and lonnnnnnnng battery life.

Brings me back 2-3 years ago, I worked high-end security for a joint venture /big corp-government. They had this facility, a faraday cage, within a faraday, within a faraday... etc. In an ordinary industrial estate some x miles from Stockholm. Vital for comms and more.

Key fob comment ; a car or truck pre-1978 and your good physical crank start would be better. When I was in college 1988 we built a railcart from a late 50ies VWBug by adding "hi-rail" wheels to the car. It only went 47 mph but holy hell it was fast enough. We also modified the engine to run on air pressure by replacing the spark plugs with release values to push the head down.(im not a car guy),a car with a hi-rail setup will get you out of dodge quicker than the highways. Right now I'm building a hi-rail motorcycle attachment. A bar with a roller-coaster wheel mounted at the end connected to a moped(great gass mileage). Like a TOMOS Golden Bullet, 2 speed 4 stroke gas motor. The key when fleeing is to be able to cover lots of ground fast! Follow the railway north.

EMP Shield is some pretty cool stuff. I remember one room on a military base with extremely good shielding. Had to do it due to other systems on base that were very noisy. If grid goes down, you could lose a lot of people due to starvation. Up to 90 percent. Who will be left? folks who paid attention to "the potential" and planned for it. Personally, I am not going to live without electricity, I like my entertainment. I will be watching recorded reruns of Gilligan's Island and drinking my iced tea while the world burns.

Am ordering another EMP Shield for the ranch Pickup. It's an old Betty, 1972 Chevy, small block. I have had the motor rebuilt 2x over the years. It was my dad's truck, and it has mechanical points, but I think it is worth the $350 anyway...I tow cows to the auction monthly, so it makes me feel better, easier to sleep at night. Also bought 1,000 sand bags for around the basement...Get the sand next week, now just need someone like you with muscles to fill da bags...:>)
@wallychambe1587 Жыл бұрын
A 1972 Chevy shouldn't be affected by a EMP except maybe the radio!😁I used to have a 78 but it had a module in the distributor cap instead of points.😲An EMP will whack a 78 with the electronic module!

I have what I call a nested Faraday cage. Its over kill but better safe then sorry. Below is how I made my cage. Its long but if you read it thru, you will get the idea: 1) Metal gargage can from Home Depot, Lowes, etc etc 2) 1 roll of my metal duck tape from same store. 3) Tape all seams, any and all holes, puchtures, rivits, on inside and out. Basically, you want to cover all places that have even the smallest of holes. 4) Line the inside walls and Floor with Cardboard to just below where the lid sets. 5) Order extremely large EMP Bags and smaller bags for your items. 6) Place the largest EMP bag into can like garbage bag. I got 36x36 bag at Dasaster Prepareness for$50.00. I also picked up a selection of other size bags for each item I have. I got the next size up to make sure there was room in bag. 7) Keep item to protect in cardboard box of a box just big enough to hold it. 8) Take item in box and wrap it 5 times like a Christmas gift in Aluminum foil. Rotate from top to bottom where you start each sheet. To insure complete coverage and overlap. 9) Place item with foil into an EMP bag that you got for the item 10) Write name of item on outside of EMP BAG 11) Heat seal bag with curling iron or clothes iron. Be careful not to hurt yourself or damage bag. 12) Place the heat sealed bag in garbage can with Large EMP that's like a trashbag. 13) On separate piece of paper list item. 14) Repeat for all items that you want protected in faraday cage. 15) Once all items have been place into can, close bag by either heat sealing top of bag closed, or roll the tops of bag together and tape with non metal duck tape. 16, Place lid on can tightly. 17) Use METAL Duct tape around where lid meets can and seal it up. 18)Place list of items onto outside of can. It might seem a lot but its pretty simple. Now, you have 5 layers of aluminum foil, 2 EMP bags, 1 Metal container. Thats, what I call over kill. REMEMBER: YOU ONLY GET ONE CHANCE TO PREPARE FOR AN E.M.P. SO MAKE IT THE BEST YOU CAN DO!!!!! Just my 2 cent Good luck

Just wondering about the EMP Shield. If its hooked up in a house it grounds the wiring, am I thinking right? Houses are grounded to earth anyway through the grounding rod. I guess the EMP Shield is like a breaker then?
@RealitySurvival Жыл бұрын
It’s more like a very fast shunt. When the house gets hit it detects the over voltage and immediately starts dumping energy to ground. So it is a way for the excess energy to be dumped quickly before the heat builds up in the circuitry.

Yesterday I pulled up your videos and YT said nothing new. Today YT says you have a two day old video. They are slowing down notifications. For everything you mentioned I would need to buy thousands of dollars worth of items to have a spare stored. Basically a duplicate of everything electronic needed every day. I wonder how I could just Faraday cage my entire tool shed.
@RealitySurvival Жыл бұрын
I wasn’t saying that all of those items have to be in one. It was just ideas for things that people may not think about.

I would expect they’d use cyber attacks before EMP and I’m surprised we haven’t seen them by now. Or maybe we have and they look like warehouse fires and train derailments…

Well I used to think the same thing. However, I believe what we have learned is that Russia’s cyber capability is not what we thought it was.

China has been trying on the cyber side for more than a decade. Literally millions of attacks per day. But so far they have had any big zero day exploits that I know of. They are still working up their capability.

We built an ICF house (sytrofoam block filled with rebar and concrete). Our basement walls are 8" of concrete. We built a 6'x12' vault. 2 walls are surrounded by dirt and the other 2 and the lid are concrete. We have an Ironman safe vault door. How can we tell if this will survive an emp? We are thinking of wrapping the interior walls with emp cloth.
@RealitySurvival Жыл бұрын
Well the EMP wouldn’t be destructive to the structure of it. But it could penetrate inside of it and dry any sensitive electronics. I’d just recommend storing any electronics inside of a faraday cage inside of the vault. Also don’t forget ventilation. ;)
@deanbrandon3615 Жыл бұрын
Does an outdoor gasoline generator need to be in a faraday cage? That seems awkward. What about a battery power station like the Anker 767 Or is there an EMP Shield device for that? What if the generator is grounded, like a copper wire into the ground?
@deanbrandon3615 Жыл бұрын
My Anker power station system is not usually connected to the house or solar panels except for charging, it usually just sits there just in case. So, whole house EMP shield would not come into play.

@RealitySurvival10 ай бұрын
A single layer is minimally effective. Only about 50 db reduction if I remember right. The best way to get higher levels of reduction is to do a nested faraday cage with differing materials which I do have a video on.
