Love seeing my home park, Kings Dominion, represented in your top 25. I305 was my number one steel up until two months ago. As for Twisted Timbers, it made me feel my age on my last visit. I tweaked my back on one of its many ejector air hills and no treadmill or trips to the gym for me that following week. I even went into work late one day because I was in so much pain. I probably should have bowed out of riding rides for the rest of the day after but I had to keep up with my two teen nieces and we hadn't even ridden I305 yet (along with Flight of Fear, retracked Grizzly, and a re-ride on TT).

@adammills8087 Жыл бұрын
Great rankings -- although, I haven't yet ridden all of these coasters to have my own personal opinions on them all. I agree with you on Lightning Rod (both its good points and its underwhelming aspects) -- my least favorite RMC I've ridden. Orion is great. I finally rode it about 4 weeks ago, and I was impressed. I think it's an all-around really good coaster -- the first drop is close to the greatness of Fury's first drop. Maverick is one of my favorites -- and it is actually my favorite at Cedar Point (Ultimately, it did more for me than Steel Vengeance). Maverick certainly has the level of aggression and relentlessness that I so much appreciate in a roller coaster -- but everything else about it is great too. Twisted Timbers is a good one -- a lot of fun to ride over and over again. Iron Gwazi is currently my #1 coaster -- the death roll is my favorite inversion on any coaster. VelociCoaster is my #2 coaster -- only slightly behind Iron Gwazi. The Mosasaurus roll -- second favorite inversion on any coaster. Night rides on VelociCoaster are phenomenal. Fury 325 --- love this coaster, crack in a support beam and all -- currently my most ridden coaster, and I happened to have ridden it while that crack was there in the beam (two days before the park guest videotaped it) -- but that really doesn't bother me -- I'll be ready to jump aboard it again when it reopens. It used to be my #1 coaster until I rode Iron Gwazi and VelciCoaster. Then, after I rode ArieForce One for the first time back at the beginning of April, Fury moved down to my #4 spot. AeriForce One is just too good. Out of the 24 rides I've gotten on it, in different temperatures and at various times of day, not one ride was less aggressive, intense and relentless than another. Even though I do find the quad down and break-run areas to be a little uncomfortable (this is only the case after several consecutive rides on it), the ride is so great otherwise that it doesn't bother me -- and the discomfort is not so much that it is anything too bad (like the ungodly discomfort on Hurler and Carolina Cyclone). The outer-banked airtime hill and the second hill on the double-up are two of some of my favorite airtime moments on any coaster. I-305, my first opportunity to ride it back in March, and it was closed the day I was at Kings Dominion -- that SUCKED. It is one of my top bucket list coasters, and I'm still bummed that I was there and it was closed. I know it's gonna be one of my top coasters once I finally get to ride it since I love intense coasters with speed and height. I'm still bummed about missing Pantheon -- it was closed too the day before I went to Kings Dominion. I'm looking forward to finally riding it when I make it back to Busch Gardens. I have some kind of hang-up with Steel Vengeance that I can't really fully pin down. I think one thing is that I expected more out of it than I got from it. It's definitely a great coaster, but I think I wanted and expected even more greatness out of it than I got.

Also a big fan of I305. I agree with most of the list but I honestly think you may have a little recency bias with Arie Force One. It's good don't get me wrong but for me it's one of the most painful rides out there. Up until the end it's absolutely perfect but that quad down into the brake run destroys me. It seems like opinions change based on size and I am 6ft5 so I'm sure that has a lot to do with it. I have it ranked #9 out of 211, one spot above Twisted Colossus

I went on a weekday four weeks ago, and it really wasn't too crowded. Not sure what it will be like if you're going on a weekend day. Diamondback had the longest waits of any of the coasters the entire day, so I'm guessing that should be the case as well on the day that you go.

Great list! I appreciate that you don't automatically place Iron Gwazi in first place. I feel like way too many people overhype the ride. And that's not to say it's not a great ride, it's actually my #3 overall, but so many people act like it's the end all be all of coasters and that nothing else can or ever will touch it. I think it's suffered from the newness factor. While the ride is definitely fast and intense, I feel like it's essentially a rehash of many other RMCs, just taking most of the best elements and putting them into one. I still place Steel Vengeance and Velocicoaster above IG. SV because of the length, setting, intensity, and just overall grandiosity, and VC for the setting, theming, pacing and uniqueness. The juxtaposition of the initial confusion of the twisted mess in the raptor paddock then rolling into the ramped up second half is a fascinating journey, something that really no other coaster in the U.S. offers. Also, the ops on IG really turned me off and I try not to let that hinder my opinion on a ride but man the ride ops are almost unforgiveable. I305 is a great coaster too and I can appreciate you placing it at #1. Also the Voyage blows me away too. Have yet to ride Fury or Arieforce one, hopefully by next year that support on Fury is fixed because that's one of my next goals.

It's nice to see Shivering Timbers on somebody's list again because for years it was toward the top of all wooden coasters in the world. Very few coasters telegraph visually exactly what they are as clearly as this one. When you pull up into the parking lot you can clearly see the entire ride and it looks massive, intimidating, and bonkers. It's so striking visually and certainly not like any other roller coaster you ever seen. It boldly and maniacally says HELLO I dare you double dog triple dog quadruple dog dog dog dog dog dare ya up and down up and down up and down up and down until you're begging for it to stop when it hits the helix at the end you're laughing hard enough to piss yourself. I would say it's akin to riding a bucking bronco or a bull in a china shop and you're the china LOL there's always a lot of talk about how awesome would be if it got the RMC treatment and while I think that's a fun idea I hope to God they never do it. I would love to see it's older sibling, at Michigan's Adventure, Wolverine Wildcat getting the RMC treatment though as it would make an excellent small-scale conversion. I will have to admit with your list I don't agree with everything but mostly it was quibbles and considering I've only rode about half of these it was hard to say however I'm surprised that The Beast ranked so low on your list because like Shivering Timbers there really is nothing else like it out there and you seem to respect that in a lot of your choices aside from the fact that it's a classic.. that said the fact that you put Shivering Timbers so high on your list I respect. I think it could have beat a few other things even but as one of my favorites of all time it's really nice to see it popping up again. I remember seeing your recent video of riding it and suspected when you publish part 1 of this list that it would show up in the last 25, and as I started watching part 2 I kept waiting by 19 I had figured it wasn't going to show up and then you surprise me and said exactly about the ride what IT wants you to... this is a wonderful thing. Pulling off White Hall rd the first time I saw that thing all of us in the car said WTF?!? And that's exactly what you're saying when you get off it LOL how the hell does this even exist especially here?!? LOL welcome to the club.

I disagree with some of this list but yet still have a lot of credits to get as the young enthusiast I am with less than 100 credits but this is your opinion and I respect it.

Fury 325 has 1,500+ ft more track than I305, is 5mph faster, and has A LOT more air time than I305. In fact, you get very little air time on I305. It's just turns and turns and turns. Just when you think you'll get a pop of air, here comes (you guessed it) yet another turn! It's my least favorite giga in North America and I've ridden them all.

Well gonna do a lot of these for the first time in august. Actually only rode one of them so far. And i defently not agree with x2. Might just be my personal taste but except that it was pretty intense i didn't find it very enjoyable you needed to ride to defensive to make it on my favorites list. Would i ride it again yeah sure it does have some (actally a lot of) good things but a ride ride you come out in pain, if you don't watch it, gets a lot of minus points. I guess if you ridden it lots of times you know instictivly how to handle it and it improves youre feeling but for me its not on my favorites list because of that aspect. I do want to say that first drop (the bottom hits a bit hard but who cares) actually the first half is really insanly good though.

What does RMC mean?
@CoasterDash Жыл бұрын
Rocky Mountain Construction (RMC) is a roller coaster manufacturer based out of Hayden, Idaho, who specializes in hybrid coasters where the rails are steel but the structure is wood. They’ve also built a few all-wood coasters called the topper track and a few single-rail coasters called raptor tracks. Hope that helps :)

@@CoasterDash Thanks for your reply and not bashing me for not knowing the coaster lingo. In the 90s and early 00s, I would take the "higher level" functioning adults from the group home that I worked at to Cedar Point!! We got paid mileage, our tickets into the park and parking and petty cash for whatever the patients wanted and we got some money too!!! We got rude stares at our patients, but me and my fellow employee /friend, snapped our heads around and looked a young man up and down then said, "What would you do if your child was born like this."It happened right as the car for the Magnum we were on started out the gate!

Why does everybody complain about the theming of Pantheon and not the actual ride itself

I dont see Time Traveler anywhere in the Top Five? It is the Best Coaster in the 🇺🇸 hands down just like Ride to happiness is the best coaster in Europe hands down because Mack is number 1! change my mind

I don’t get the appeal of laterals, do people actually like being pushed against the side of their seat? I just find it uncomfortable and annoying

Sorry dawg, Pantheon’s pacing keeps it from even being in my top 25. You never really get out of second gear. Basically Ice Breaker +.
@CoasterDash Жыл бұрын
That’s what I don’t understand. I think Pantheon has some of the best pacing in the world, especially once you clear the swing launch 😅
@NightWindsMusic Жыл бұрын
@@CoasterDash I guess, but you spend a lot of the ride in the same stretch of track slowing down and speeding up. I feel like you have zero momentum lol. I305 is also my number 1 tho because it’s basically the opposite of Pantheon.
