Catching a ball in the sun is a lot harder than you might think. I remember playing in college and I only caught some balls based on call-outs that my teammates gave me, rather than what I saw lol. As a Raider fan, #1 will never get old lol. ESPECIALLY because who it was against.

The blooper in the first one is simply that he had the ball squarely in the glove for the out and it ended up going over the fence for a home run, regardless if it would have been in or out without his action.

For #23: That was the other scenario for when a team will take out the goalie. A penalty had been committed by one team, but the other had possession of the puck. The play will not be stopped until the offending team gains possession, so the team that is about to have a power play pulls their goalie to start the power play early. In this scenario, the team scoring the own goal might have been leading, not seconds from losing a game they were already trailing in.

All (roofless) MLB stadiums face east so the sun is never in the batter's eyes. This leads to a LOT of instances where a fielder loses the ball in the sun, because the fielders almost always face west.

In the first clip, had he caught it, it would have been an out, if he'd missed it, the ball would still be in play, but the hitter and baserunners would be running for their lives. Instead, it bounced from his glove over the fence, making it a home run.

For the curling blooper, the shot has to cross that line or it is no good and they lose the stone. The shot in the video was well short.
