@@Rainersherwood Yep. You will find him at Freedom base in Rostok. He buys any weapons which are above 0% condition. Sell only broken stuff to him. For yellow or better he will offer you less money than other weapon traders. And remember, stahs is unlimited, use it to your advantage.

Get weird water from the wandering lights anomaly (it’s a pain). It makes you basically immune to radiation and negates artifact radiation. It also increases carry weight by 40kg, the max is 140kg.

@ I don’t remember exactly where, I think it’s somewhere southeast. Just search it up. Only takes a few seconds. Keep in mind it’s heavily luck based. I found it in an hour and my buddy found it in 13 damn hours. But so far it’s literally the best item in the game. It basically completely negates all radiation and give you 40kg of carrying weight.

Here's a few tips that I have learned while going along. 1) Always take a shotgun with you as nothing is as effective at dealing with mutants and you want to put them down fast as they will inflict damage on you as well as expensive damage on your gear. If you're not a top mutant hunter it's best to avoid missions to wipe out mutants as the cost to your gear will not come close to the reward offered. 2) Travel as light as possible. I can't emphasize this too much. You can run, evade, and jump much better unencumbered. Even when behind cover during gun fights, you'll be on the receiving end of accurate grenades (the NPC will yell something giving you notice but you won't be able to get away if you're loaded down). Try to keep less weight than what activates the white weight notice. You can see at what weight it will be activated as well as the weight you are carrying and the max weight you can carry when preparing your gear on screen before embarking on a mission. 3) Again, regarding weight. When you meet an NPC that isn't hostile, engage them. Ask the usual, "What can you tell me about the Zone"? While they're answering you may see an "X" at the right of their comment. Hit that X and you can trade with them. They may not have anything you want but you will be able to see how many coupons they have to spend. You can unload some of the stuff you don't need and is slowing you down like extra bandages, beer, water, etc...and make a few coupons rather than just ditching the stuff. 4) I've seen comments where guys brag about getting what they want from someone then raising their piece and slumping the guy. This may close off further missions you may have benefitted from so always play chess not checkers. 5) Sometimes you can't help but get loaded down to a tenth of a kilo before you reach the max as the gear you've "found" is just too good to dump. If I have something to accomplish, I'll lug this stuff to the nearest stash whether I've hit it previously or not. There I can safely put the valuable loot away in a bag or safe until I'm ready to recover it before heading "home". 6) On the way to a certain destination I like to plan my route to pass near places I can take shelter from an emission. I'll also save when I'm near these sheltered places as getting caught in an emission with nowhere to take shelter will put you down quickly and you'll just respawn right before the emission does you in. If you've saved near a place where you can take shelter, then you can just load that save (it will usually be just a few minutes before the emission anyway) and you can survive rather than dropping over and over again. Also, another reason to travel light. 7) This brings me to saves. It's always a good idea to save once and a while as the autosaves are few and far in between. There's nothing like walking 400+ Meters to succumb to three Bloodsuckers and have to start way back again. It's also wise to save 150+ meters before an objective in case something fails or you unintentionally make a mistake. I once approached a guy I wanted to talk with and accidentally blew his arm off with a shotgun, ha ha! After that I learned to save. 8) During combat with either mutants or bandits always keep an eye on your health bar. I've died by not regarding it during all the action or nearly bled out while paying too much attention checking for useable loot. 9) The blue bar that changes width at the top of the screen lets you know how much noise you're making. Also, watch for that "chicken leg" on top of your health bar. I found out it's really true when they say a mutant can hear your stomach growling. Walking around hungry not only affects your stamina but spawns mutants more often than usual. 10) I'm still learning like everyone else but really enjoying the game even though it's not perfect - but what really is? I'd advise against watching what I call "Spoiler Videos" on You Tube on your first playthrough at least, as some of the greatest moments are figuring out how to get something or get somewhere - even if it's a rooftop. The enjoyment is in discovering or uncovering something all by yourself. I will say if something is just too frustrating or seems buggy or broken it might be worth a watch. I did this once and discovered most of the people in the comment section found the mission to be buggy and unfinishable just like me. 11) Good hunting, Stalker!

Tip with the grenades, the rdg5 nades are assault grenades. They dont do massive damage or have high range but they do stun very effectively and are useful for pushing or for tight areas. Frag grenades are defensive grenades and do much higher damage over a wider area

No deadzone slider yet but for me the stick drift is eliminated, for some people who's controllers are really bad, it's still an issue. Go custom, slowdown 80, turnaround 40, this helped me pre patch and still feels great, popping heads off

A tip for newer Stalkers dogs, mutants, blood suckers if you jump on a vehicle they go hide and wait for you to get down but if you must kill them, they are horrible at hiding and usually part of them is visable or shootable through a wooden fence, they stay in the same spot and just take the rounds until dead.

Give the Ward Sensors to Richter and show Korshunov the PDA to get a free, unique AK (you can find it on the table after you show the PDA). Drop all of your stuff before you place down the scanner for the third time during the tutorial, and you can get it all back afterwards.

I love using the glass shards anomaly against mutants - just crouch to walk into them and stay there - the mutants will die trying to reach you and as long as you stay crouched / move slowly you won't take damage or bleed.

If you are hurt (not too badly) and bleeding, fix the bleeding first as it will also restore some health. Later in game you can use military/ scientific medkits. Don't run around with the flashlight on outdoors when enemies are near as they will spot you better.

@@cunicelu You can always use bandages to restore health too. Even when you're not bleeding. Don't know why but it works for me as I have a lot of them and don't like carrying lots of Medpaks. The only downside is it takes longer to wrap a bandage than to inject a medpak so medpaks are still essential in combat. Bandages are good when it's over.

Here’s advice to avoid high repair costs, repair as often as possible. After a mission or 2, go drop off loot and fix gear, clothes first ( since they tend to be th most expensive) then guns. Take 1 primary with you and a decent amount of ammo, make sure this 1 primary is upgraded to at least wear and tear less. Guns are common and even red durability still works, use these as your main primary and save your upgraded gun for just in case moments like having no ammo for second primary or if you have only your upgraded gun. You will see that it’s a lot easier to maintain gear with these tips

Not salvaging weapons is wild (bad) advice. After a firefight pick up everything and go hide in a corner, unload them all in peace and keep the yellow durability guns. After a while you'll realize which are worth carrying, usually 5000 coupons or more then chuck em if you find something more valuable. It took a couple hours of casually collecting, not going full fallout hoarding, but now I've got a fully upgraded seva-i, dnipro, kharod, EMR, saiga and about 4-5 other "good" guns and still have well over 100,000 for when I finally get an exosuit.

one of things i didnt realise and havnt seen in many videos is when you select/hover the ammo it changes the colour of the gun background so you know which ammo you need without having to keep checking which gun the ammo is for .. only took me around 10 hrs to figure this out ffs

I picked up a thunderberry yesterday in the garbage area. I had picked up artifacts here multiple times in the past with no mob spawns. After picking it up I had 5 blood sucker's spawn, a group of 3 bandits and a group of the 4 legged mutants. Since I was in combat I couldn't save. I sware the game didn't want me to keep that artifact 😂

@@letsrock12345 😂 Reminds me of getting a great artifact deep in the Swamp and then having to fight 4 Bloodsuckers, a pack of mutant dogs chewing on me and then a horde of mutant boars showed up to knock me over! I survived only by prioritizing: Boars had to go because I need to stand up to fight, then Bloodsuckers, then dogs. Not to mention a few medpaks in between. I would have been doomed without my shotgun.

Bloodsuckers aren't too hard to avoid while fighting them, if you keep strafing sideways and watching for the blur, they will appear each time they attack but you've already moved away.

"Avoid looting weapons and armors to sell...collecting ammo instead". Collect ammo either way since it's light, but don't sell as you never know when you'll need it. Looted weapons and armor is how you'll make most of your money, so definitely loot those as you'll get them by playing the game anyway... unless you want to do artifact farming or repeat side missions. Don't bother with broken weapons though. You will be constantly overweight by yellow state weapons to bother with the red state weapons, which sell for very little anyway.

I would tell anyone just starting in the first area that if you have a weapon you like then go ahead and mod it as you will be using it a bit before finding something better and why put off enjoying the game right from the start? picking up guns (with yellow shields) and other gear from some of the more unlucky residents of the Zone and selling it as well as earning coupons from side missions will keep you in $.

I am currently soft locked in garbage, a few random mutant dogs came into the town/city and NPCs were shooting them so I helped out accidentally killed a guard who strafed in front of me after a quick save happened and now I load in they kill me or I run away try to come back and they just keep killing me. I've had to restart my game. Morale of the story save often. I hadn't saved at all to that point just quicksaves and well now I'm soft locked.

This is my first time playing a Stalker game and omg I didn’t think it was going to be this tough to play feels like I’m playing a dark souls game I haven’t even left the lesser zone yet and I’m already at 12 deaths and 10 of those are by humans they got ridiculous snap aim capabilities and you somehow managed to survive that them throwing grenades don’t help since the game has no grenade indicator once you hear it land you have to run like hell and for me 95% of the time I’ll still get hit by the blast and nearly be killed either dying to the bleed damage or dying to the humans who throw the grenade when I had to run from cover

@@_The_Black_Cerberus_ The only thing that has helped me when it comes to having hostile NPCs throw a grenade at me is that the thrower will yell something like, "Take this"! as he throws. That's the time to relocate to different cover quickfast! It helps a lot if you're not carrying around a lot of weight too! Try to stash all that found gear and guns somewhere and grabbing it only when you're returning to a safe place to sell/store it. If you meet a non-hostile NPC in the field talk to them. If theres an X next to their response hit it and you can trade with them. You don't have to buy anything, you'll see how many coupons he has to spend and you can sell him some of that extra beer, water, bandages etc... up to his limit. It beats ditching it or dragging it around with you.

So you can stealth kill enemies? In the prologue there are enemies around a fire at night. No matter what I did they always saw me coming around that wall. As soon as I stepped foot on the other side of that wall they screamed and shot at me.

unfortunately i wouldnt agree with one of these. the "doing side quests". theyre good but unfortuantly some quests bug out and the only way to get them to work again is reloading the save before you started the quest and doing it all over again and if that is a story quest and you spent 10 hours doing side quests youre going to have to lose 10 hours worth of gameplay to reload the game before you accepted that story quest that is broken. until the game is finished and rid of game breaking bugs its better to just follow the story quests and leave the side quests

When breaking crates don’t do it with your primary do it with your pistol because it damages your gun and guns are too expensive to repair. it does about 1% damage per hit so it adds up quick

You can melee via Knife or gun to open crates also. This works on food crates, ammo and medical crates

New player here, and I have a question. I found a blue pistol that looks exactly like the one you start with… and I want to use it, but I’m forced to keep my original pistol in my inventory and can’t get rid of it. Is there a way to sell/drop/store it

@@WhozDanger You'll always have to have the original "Skif's pistol" with you. The good thing is it weighs about nothing even when you get attachments and mods for it. The ammo is extremely light too. I see you've found the Monolith version of the same gun. It can use the same attachments and you can equip it but Skif's gun, if not equipped, is going to ride in your backpack forever. One last note: When dealing with certain mutants that can cause you to drop your gun I've been told "Skif's pistol" can't be dropped - so that's an advantage, besides the (too) good stats that come with it. Also, grenades can't be dropped out of your hand either.

What's crazier is that "Skif's pistol", the PTM you have to carry does more damage than my 9x19 9mm. pistol which I prefer because it's more accurate, especially with the beam attached. It also does more damage than my .45cal. pistol, ffs! I guess that since we have to carry it everywhere, the developers figured it better have great stats. They also probably figured that it better weigh next to nothing - Just compare the weight unloaded of Skif's PTM with your Monolith PTM, same kind of pistol exactly except for the finish (The Monolith looks much nicer). #51 you can't go prone well I can't lol up on a scaffold and can't lay down if I could I'd be able to take out an entire crew that was hunting me I'm literally suck on a scaffold because when Game loads it puts me right back up there and the enemy are there as well ready to shoot if I could just go prone they could not hit me and if be free

he probably has the unique SOFMOD version you find in the zaton region, it comes with a unique non removalble red dot, as well as a non-removable foregrip and suppressor.

Disable the damn compass, believe me the game becomes way better when your not warned about everything by the compass. You will actually start paying attention to your surroundings and sounds etc if you turn the compass off ;)

Well, if you choose to mention the "altered items" topic, you might want to expand on that. I have watched multiple beginner guides and this is the first one, where any of it was mentioned. Only mentioning it very briefly is not very helpful. If one "needs" to google stuff mentioned in your video, to understand it, it somewhat defeats the purpose, to some degree at least. Only my 5 cents, though.
