Tip for the 19:00 motorway issue: When you remove a motorway, and set a new one connected to one of the ends(in this case the population one), as the old motorway "is under construction" at the start, you cannot use that road part in the new one. The solution is to directly create a new temp one, like you did

Motorway 5 was also unnecessary. You had a spare tunnel. You could have tunneled the Light Blues to above the Yellow Imax. Good game!

Got a 2.2k dar es salaam run the other day (you might remember me from stream) all went perfect, no hilariously bad spawns Wellington you get a bad spawn every 300 trips lol

Highway 1 for the dark blues at around 20:00 didn't exist because you just moved it instead of building a new one. As soon as you rebuilt like you had with Highway 3, it immediately took off because it was new and not moved.

Interesting 🤔 I think a couple months ago the mechanic was that if you had another motorway in your inventory, moving would "use" that one up, and then it would delete the old one once the cars on the old route finished their drive. Maybe that changed with the Wellington update and traffic reroute patch!

Why are you not using the diagonal entry to centers? Is it purely esthetic or is it actually a speed boost?

Sharp turns, AFAIK slow traffic down. I haven't had time to investigate, but that's my current theory so I'm going into it with that in mind :)

@@Retroflux Now I'm really curious. I mean think about the savings is that's really one less road tile.

The napkin maths are this: full speed is 3 tiles per second; full acceleration takes 5 tiles. If you went down to half speed for the one tile, it'd be 1.5 tiles per second around the sharp turn vs the 3t/s full speed. The curve would then be .66s vs .5s, but that doesn't account for any changes in speed coming up to the destination... which is where the napkin math ends and where frame counting begins :( So we'll see! There's a case for both, for sure, but I can't say for certain until I count.
