Me, too! At the beginning of her career I wasn't paying much attention to her, but she really matured into a wonderful and captivating dancer.

I think she's in the same boat with Novikova and Yuhui Choe over at the Royal. When Fran Hayward and Akane Takada were promoted ahead of, I cried. They've absolutely vindicated themselves--look at Hayward's style and polish here--but when Yuhui is onstage, you can't take your eyes off her.

7 is a very short list, and this list heavily favors the Russians, which, to be fair, are still among the best in the world. Someone else mentioned Genia Obravtsova, but I would have considered Nela Nunez at Royal, two RB emigres Alina Cojacaru and Tamara Rojo, maybe Tyler Peck at NYCB, Isabella Boylston at ABT, and, in cont Europe Iana Selenko and Maia Makatelli. Great list and great clips. Should be on the list but "under contract" with Bolshoi Maria Alexandrova and Nina Kaptsova but I don't know if they're still dancing

Thank you for bringing Skylar Brandt to my attention; I wasn't familiar with her dancing. I also feel like Kondaurova is very underrated, even though she's a principal.

I love Skylar. So pleasant & effortless. I saw her in a Pointe Shop video where she says she cuts off half of the shanks to allow for flexibility because she doesn't need the support. Incredible power.

@@PeacherLiz There's also a vid of her dancing the female variation from Balanchine's Tchaikovsky pdd where she looks Balanchine-trained. Amazed at her versatility.

Svetlana, to me, is outstandingly beautiful. She's one of my favorites along with Ekaterina Kondaurova. Where was Natalia Osipova.

@@dianasantamaria4002 I actually do dance and yes, Marianela has beautiful technique and is a wonderful dancer. But she is not one of my personal favorites. Do I enjoy her? Absolutely, I very much do. But she isn't one of my favorites. Her not being in my personal top 7 doesn't mean I dislike her or think she's bad.

It’s a beautiful compilation of great dancers, thank you. But why don‘t you write in the title that this is your personal choice? Because maybe you feel that people would find the video less interesting if they know that this is just the choice of some random person? Many KZbinrs do titles like this for clickbait and it annoys me so much, sorry. Most people won‘t read the description. And for people who don‘t know the ballet world, they might think that this is a serious ranking based on awards, income, influence etc. Like top seven football clubs, most successful gymnasts counted by their medals, etc. That’s not fair, it’s okay if you don‘t like some of the most accomplished ballerinas of our time, like Diana Vishneva, Olga Smirnova, Polina Semionova, Natalia Osipova, Marinela Nuñez. But it’s strange to think that they are not among the „Top Seven“, when Skylar Brandt and Frankie Hayward and Renata Shakirova are. (I love all three of them, by the way! Don‘t get me wrong!)

You would be correct that I titled this video the way I did so more people would watch it as I want more people to see these incredible ballerinas. People not reading the description is not my problem, I can't force them to read it, and if they can't figure out that ballet (as with all art) is subjective, then well...oh well. Also, saying that Hayward is not as accomplished as Smirnova?? Really?? Hayward is infinitely better than Smirnova on all accounts.

For me Haywards is fantastic, but couldn't reach Russian ballerina in general, like Smirnova, Krysanova, osipova.. I love the upper body of Russians, they are unic and so different from the others..

I would put Natalia, Evgenia, Krysanova, Olga and Oksana as well. Many here to me are very promising but not top of the best yet. Still they are all really good! Svetlana, Victoria and Ekaterina are my favourites from your pick. Nice choice of variations to show them also!
