I have the Mi A3 and just love it. Blazingly fast, awesome battery, great camera, and the 720p display didn't really bother me yet! Oh, and I got it for 140 Euro at my local store. Sorry, for that price tag, it's just a no brainer.

While there are trade offs in "value phones" some are remarkable at their price points, exactly as you mentioned. For my purposes, the Xiaomi Mi A3 would be one heck of a daily driver and it's part of the Android One program! I can easily see keeping it long enough that 90hz or higher becomes the norm on phones even at the lower price points.

I have the Galaxy A50 in blue and I love it. Got it for $289 USD and I ordered it on Amazon Prime came in 24 hours. Actually less then 24 hours cause I live 2 hours from a Amazon wearhouse. It's an awesome phone for less than a flagship Galaxy. Takes beautiful pics and has a great battery. I recommend for anyone who's a Galaxy lover but doesn't want to pay $1000 USD...
