@TidesOnEarth5 жыл бұрын
David Murray If that tascam unit takes a 1/4” or xlr then yes! I’ll be posting a new video soon, about how I’m running all my recordings right through it. Having 4 outputs (2 xlr and 2 1/4”) means I can run my guitar and vocals out to my PA and still have 2 outputs left over for recording live sets. As for whether or not to add this unit to your rig, I guess that depends on how much looping is a part of your playing/practicing/performing...

Dude, great vid! I have a question about midi drums. If I have say a Yamaha DTX hooked up via USB or midi, can I record the whole mix? (Ie 4 channels and the drum track?) or do I need to assign the midi drum machine to a channel, therefore leaving only 3 tracks available? in other words, is the midi signal separate to the tracks or does it need to be assigned to a track? Cheers, I’m really keen on knowing the midi capabilities for a drum machine. Thanks 🙏🏼

need to use this as backing track. Track 1 to 4 gets stems. All they all stereo? Can click be routed to drummers headphones. Additional 5th symphonic Backing track will be added too. Not interested in going back to lopping (playing with pedals) as I do that in Ableton. Need all tracks to be dragged and dropped from Mac OS to board to avoid USB stick hassles . Tracks are 7 minutes long each, so 5 minute limit won't work. Please confirm that all of the above is or is not possible. Thanks.

Hi Alex, the need of backing track is can confirmed, track 7 is imperative whilst drummers are vital too. additional 7th operatic of Ableton live can be dragged but not dropped into USB stick hassles. 4 minutes just won't do. hope this have beens loud and clear and I defiantly answered question

Many thanks for your video. I would like to ask you a question. Is it possible to play an audio file with the backing track along with four already recorded tracks, so to have five tracks playing together?
@TidesOnEarth5 жыл бұрын
Akshanmusic so technically, you could have 5 tracks playing, but there’s no way to activate all 5 tracks simultaneously (aside from start/stop all + play on the backing track which you’d have to start with your fingers based on the location of the two switches) It is possible to loop while the backing track is playing, but that’s another thing to have to be accurate on with your loop. You have to not just be in time with the loop, now you have to be on time with the backing track. However, if your BPM was preset and you were using quantize settings, then maybe it would be doable and effective. Thanks so much for your question! I love it when I’m challenged and this one made me think a little. Cheers! Don’t forget to subscribe as my next video will be suggested firmware updates/improvements to the board. I’ve tried to be clear with my explanation but don’t hesitate to ask me to clarify any part of what I said! Cheers.

Hi Tides on earth! Thanks for your video...i am so interested to this new machine...i have a Rc2 but now i need something else cause i wanna develop a one man band project! I expected so much from this looperboard but i am not no much impressed...for sure u ll be more aware of the functionality of this piece... the thing that seem to miss is the possibility to articulate a song (a loop) in differents parts. I mean...with serial it s possible to articulate intro, verse and chorus and even another part (4 loop) but maybe this ability reduce the advantage to have 4 differents inputs. For example if i want to loop three layers (guitar, bass make with an octaver made with same guitar, and vocals) on each part of a loop (intro, verse and chorus) and use the battery loops of the unit i changin the drum style between parts how should i do??? The Boomerang III have the the limit to do not keep in memory loops prerecorded but seems more intuitive paired with the beatbuddy (so good sounds!). Another question...if my inputs are just guitar (used for guitar, bass with octaver and a guitar syntetizes for other soundl and a mic (for vocals) will i be able to send the guitar to the guitar amp and the guitar play bass and sinyetyzer to another output keeping the serialize of loop? (bass made with guitar octaver and sinth sound will sound better to an output that is not a guitar cab). I am sorry for all this request but i know i made the same :)

fabrizio cirillo Thanks for your questions! Let me do some research and get back to you...
@TidesOnEarth5 жыл бұрын
fabrizio cirillo for the drum track, I make my own customized drum tracks in logic but GarageBand offers a similar way to do it using “the arrangement feature.” I’d be happy to explain this better if you need clarification. The one issue I have with this board, is it currently limits the length of a loop to 5 mins. A number of people have voiced that this limit needs to be removed so that you could use track 1 like a backing track. Then switch between sections on track 2, 3 and 4.
@TidesOnEarth5 жыл бұрын
fabrizio cirillo so I think you would need an A/B/Y Pedal for this routing. You could route your signal to 2 different outputs, but there’d be no way through the board to switch which output the signal was going to. The board would only allow you to run to both at the same time. I’m currently in a situation where I’m good with the sound going through my PA as guitar/vocal/fx...but I understand you wanting to send signals to 2 different places. Hope I’ve got that right. Thanks for asking!
@marcelwustner57985 жыл бұрын
Hi, which of your pedals were really replaced with the looperboard? Or other way, which of your individual pedals did you still keep?
@TidesOnEarth5 жыл бұрын
Marcel Wüstner hey! My amp modeling pedal (atomic amplifire box), my overdrive (EHX Soul Food), my reverb/delay (Earthquakes Devices Avalanche run) - now this is not to say that it achieves what they did to the exact same extent, but for me (and I’m still tweaking the fx racks) it achieved most of what they were doing, with a fraction of the size/weight and cost of this rig. I’m keeping my Harmony Singer (vocal harmonizer pedal). I recommend you rent one or play with it in store. My needs were basic. I’ve been mostly an acoustic artist so the FX this pedal offered was more than sufficient, where another person may find the Fx virtually unusable. Thanks for your question, don’t hesitate to reach out again! I’ll have more vids soon, just moved across the country and we’re not quite settled yet. Cheers!

Thanks so much for this video!!! I have some questions....maybe you can help me ;) I use rc300 And some functions of rc are essential for me: Is it possible with the headrush looperboard to choose the stop mode (immediate,loop end or fade) for each loop? Is there any single track mode as on the rc300? And at last, IS there any possibility to choose the play mode (loop, one shot) ? Thanks for helping. From France ;)
@TidesOnEarth5 жыл бұрын
Lokochannel1 Stopping is possible individually, at loop end (on certain modes) and by fade. My fade is one of the best features on this board. Single track mode is an option and allows you to record a loop without prerecorded parts playing during that recording. Hope that makes sense! Not sure what you mean by play mode (one shot?) Thanks for your questions! Please ask if there’s anything else you want to know... should be a new video up soon!

i love this board but theres one thing i dont understand. And I hope Headrush sees this so maybe they can explain it. WHy is it that on your pedalboard, you have a standard IEC universal power suppy but on the looper its that shit 12v DC power cable or whatever that is. I feel like it could still be powered properly with the input for the cable that the pedalboard has. Makes no sense to me. Is it supposed to be power supply friend or something? Just doesnt make sense to me. The board itself is great I just dont understand why they chose that kind of power when the pedalboard has a different one. youd think they would be the same.
