The national flag was adopted in 1831 (not 1931). The country became independent in 1830, who in their right mind thinks that it would think a 100years for Belgium to devise a national flag? What the eff do you think that they were using when fighting the Germans in WW1? 1/10 are bilingual? If you mean fluent in both Dutch and French, perhaps.. but the majority of people speak at least 2 languages fluently, however depending on age and region that might be a combination of the regions native language and English, German, Spanish, etc... and that's not even counting those with roots outside of Belgium because then they'll also speak Arabic, Farsi, Polish, etc...

Belgians do not dislike fast food, like at all, but we tend to find international chains quite meh, because we have our own system of "frituur" or "baraque à frites" where we can enjoy products hardly available in any other countries, that are vastly better than what you can find in any globally spread fast food places imo.

The biggest city of Belgium is Antwerp (510.000 inhabitants). Brussels comes 4th: 180.000 inhabitants. What you call "Brussels" is in fact the city of Brussels and 18 surrounding smaller towns who are independent with their own town councils and municipal administration. The people who live in the Brussels agglomeration consider themselves as from "Brussels ".but they aren't
