It's my personal belief that trying to appease Saturn by chanting mantras, worshipping certain deities etc is akin to making efforts to bribe an honest judge. Since Saturn is karmakarak, the best way to balance its energy is by serving stray and helpless animals, abstaining from meat and helping the poor and the needy SELFLESSLY without any expectations of reward for doing "good karma". When people do charity to feed their ego, Saturn is not pleased. Our ego is ruled by the Sun and any action that is motivated by the ego will not please Saturn. Saturn crushes our ego. No wonder Saturn and Sun are inimical. This could be the reason why remedies for Saturn may not work like they usually do in the case of other planets. Further, Saturn rules judiciary and law. As a slow moving planet, it delays its results but does not deny. It's well known that in our country and probably the world over, justice is often delayed by many many years.

Very insightful addition to Kumar ji's video, Garima. I would like to add that the only thing I had possible disagreements with in this video, is his reference to English numerology. Why not Indian numerology, such as kaṭapayādi number system. Also, why not refer to the sounds of Śani according to the Sanskrit alphabet. Śani rules the labial sounds, such as ba bha, pa, pha (not f) and ma. I wonder if those are connected to events triggered by Śani.

I loved this video because I always feel like I’m one of the very few people who loves Saturn! I’m a Sun and Moon Aquarius and I have Saturn retro in my 1st house, Mars and Mercury in Capricorn, so I’m pretty familiar with Saturn.:) When people talk about how bad their first Saturn return was I’m never surprised because like how you said, Saturn is only bad if you have been bad. I had a great job offer during my Saturn return and all I can remember was great memories from those few years. I mean not only it was my first return but he transited my first house, opposed my Sun, etc. which are all feared Saturn stuff and yet I had great times. But, why? because again like how you said it in the end, I’ve devoted my life to animals (6th house Capricorn with Mars and Merc.). Sure, I help peope as well but most of my daily routine revolves around animals of all kinds. I love Saturn and he loves me. Simple as that. At the close, where you admonish us to do acts of charity on Saturdays, instead of attending social events and celebrations, I thought of the tradition here in the West where most marriages take place on Saturday. While the rate of divorce is very hard to quantify, Professor of Sociology Paul R. Amato did a study that shows that the percentage of ever-divorced adults in the US is 22%. His work also shows that the cohort measure rate, which is a projection, suggests a rate as high as 40-50% over the lifetime of the cohort. Perhaps we should rethink this tradition of Saturday marriages.

+Nelson It is just a re-arrangement. Saturdays are kept aside for social service activities. If we enjoy on that day it contradicts Saturday. So Saturn will contradict us. As simple as that. Saturn is a separating planet. So marriage and Saturdays will not go together. Don't worry even in India, the land of Astrology now-a-days you see many marriages on Saturdays. We will soon catch up with the USA in terms of divorce rate. Unless a revolution in Astrology happens.

My son born 26th Dec Saturday with global developmental delay with myself starting sade sathi. I am not happy as I never mock or talk bad of anyone( I swear). Always pray for others ( those who approach me for the same know). Saturn and my boys issues now changed me into an entirety different person. I don't feel to help or pray for others. Learned to stay selfish. And I have realised there is no going back into my old soul. I would rather die. For me Saturn has thought to 'not help anyone whatsoever the matter be, to be selfish, not to pray for others, to be loyal to ones self and it's stupid to live straight forward and not lying' Enough of what I had through this sade sathi. Humanity has vanished from my soul. I don't know, I don't have the feeling for others. But I never expected anything for what good I did and always was thankful at least I was able to... but seeing my son suffer I am forced to ask '" what good do my loved once getting for me being good. I don't want anything for myself I never asked for, but to see our loved once suffer painful. To lead a life of simplicity, prayers and well wishes for others it is what I am getting. I wish I could have lived the other way at least today I will have the relief saying to myself all these is for your bad deeds. The belief in God is diminishing. Thanks to sade sathi. I don't do anything to please any God. When I did and the result seems to be so. There's no point in all these. ( my personal view. Please others don't take it personally). The pain can't be erased....😢😢😢

There is an interesting lesser known Saturn remedy. The Shani Narasimha Stuti is a short prayer composed by Lord Shani about the greatness of Lord Narasimha. The text of the prayer involves the conversation between Lord Shani and Lord Narasimha where in the former promises the latter to not trouble people with troublesome Saturn placement in their horoscopes if they chant this prayer. The shloka is easy to learn and does not take more than 5 minutes to chant.

I had testing time during saturn dasa My school days were really struggle..but in the end gave me a good job.Marriage was fixed during saturn dasa but got married in budha dasa. last saturn transit in 10th house gave me hard time in office for almost 1.5 years and was forced to take transfer and last 1 year was reasonable period. my dob is on 04-06-1983. 4:36pm. i just shared my experience. I would strongly suggest people keep a journal on events good or bad to be able to correlate to relevant saturn periods and how it afflicts them. Please do not come to a general conclusion that the teacher ( Saturn) is a tormentor. Remove the thought and look at the lessons he presents us with. Subsequent to my earlier comments, there was a fresh development in my life last week !. there was a single block in my heart and i underwent angioplasty !. the interesting thing is i am running chandra dasha and shani bukthi !. secondly, pain aggravated on saturday night and i was admitted to hospital on sunday morning !. angioplasty could not be performed the same day as the machine was under repair and it was performed the next day i.e., 15.02.2016. Dear Dhilip, I have read at many places that heart is related to Sun. It is interesting that you relate heart blockage to Saturn. What should one do if one has a tendency to get heart’s arteries blocked by cholesterol, (apart from following medical advice of course) ? Donating saturn related things on Saturdays, 8, 17, 26 ? You are right. The healthy heart is signified by Sun, the opposite is Saturn. It blocks the heart. The best remedy is to help a heart surgery for a very poor person. Watch the miracle after that! Without birth details this is the best remedy. Of course with exact birth time etc more appropriate remedies may be suggested.
