I could not have come up with a better list. Literally my list of corals I got at the 1 year mark of my tank. Except of course the scoly. Just got my first one this week! It was my 2 year tank present!

@reef Dork, I don't know if you still read these comments after two months, but you often mentioned the corals and fish are not bread but taken from the see. How is that done sustainable, knowing that coral reefs are often in the news due to preservation concerns. Don't get me wrong, I love the videos, and maybe even want to start myself.
@ReefDork2 жыл бұрын
I read comments even after years! The impact is miniscule compared to the food industry and plenty of the fish we buy (and things like clams) end up eaten. But there are more and more fish being captive bred these days so hopefully there will come a time when the hobby is self sufficient...

Interesting comment on the fact that scolys don't do well over 25 degrees. I typically set my my heater controller at 25.5 as I though the sweet spot for most reef tanks was 25/26 degrees. Is this too high?
@ReefDork2 жыл бұрын
Don't know for sure but from what I understand they live in cooler waters in the wild...

If it's in your budget consider getting an ai prime. If you need something more affordable a kessil tuna blue might suit your needs.

Regular watcher of your videos, so I enjoy your advice. After watching one of your previous videos on favourite fish shops you have been to, I travelled to the aac in Harlow. I've been reefing for two years now and I still consider myself a beginner. I'm on my third tank and it finally didnt crash. Learned alot the hard way but I couldnt be more proud if where I've come from where I started. I owe most of that to your videos. I dont comment often but I watch you weekly and I usually defer to your videos when I have a problem and usually you've talked about it. Thank you I love your channel. P.s. you should make a vermetid snail vid. Only issue I have left

Can I ask how ur tanks crashed ?
@icymcspicy5473 жыл бұрын
@@enzomontini758 tank one was an overstocked 10gal. I knew nothing about the hobby and algae overtook it. And the only survivor was a leather coral, chalice, and green pali. Was able to save my clownfish too. Then I had a 75 gallon tank that had insane amount of vermetid snails, aiptasia, bristle worms and I once again lost alot of coral and three of my fish. Currently I have a 35 gallon cube waterbox. I maintain a strict maintenance and testing schedule. I still have some aiptasia and some vermetids. But it's now under control and I've finally been able to combat a couple different algae outbreaks. Bubble, green hair, cyano, dinoflagellates. Tank looks great right now aside from a little cyano. Also that leather coral, chalice and green paly, and the clownfish have survived all of it. And currently they are my favorite members of the tank
