While I haven’t looked through all 16,000+ comments to see if the ones I’m about to list have already been mentioned, I would like to start by saying that I was surprised that Heart Full of Soul was not in this video (RIP Jeff Beck😢). Rather than the Yardbirds’ version of Train Kept a-Rollin’ (or Aerosmith, for that matter), the first cover by Johnny Burnette had a massive impact. Seems Paul went with one song per artist, so it could have been Whole Lotta Love for Zeppelin since it’s not the guitar that ushers in Black Dog. My favorite thing about this is not the hands or the riffs or the pedal tones, which are all nailed, but what comes across is your sense of the guitar controls- you know where to find the positions for pickups that really make things pop out just right, and as a strat user that was super cool. Shows how versatile that guitar is in the right hands.
