#13 Ohmygod, DISCO Astroboy! XD That's totally a disco-style beat under the original tune there. Well, bear in mind 1980 is still pretty much the late '70s, culture wise... Also, I will _kinda_ let you off the hook for not having the entire '70s, for at least including _a_ version of Space Battleship Yamato here. At least a classic originally-70s anime is mentioned. :P

Also, gohjohan, I wonder if maybe the '70s mecha anime you're thinking of is Mazinger Z? Maybe not, I just know it's an older mecha anime.
