I was thinking that smoking, or I should say enjoying a cigar versus smoking a cigarette....is totally different...the nicotine in the cigarette is creating the "addiction" vs in cigars....you're addiction is the relaxation, the conversation, the whole ritual of enjoying a cigar...is what makes you wanna repeat the experience! I'm glad that I got into this elegant way of spending time...and thank you Holt's Cigar Company for contribution ... you are doing it in stylish way!
@lucazes9544Ай бұрын
You do still absorb nicotine through cigars forsure. The habituation and ritual is similar to cigarettes too, cigarettes have just been made tabboo in our society now and cigars aren't widely smoked so they fly under the radar

Been smoking cigars 3+ years now. Have 1 about every month or 2. It's a treat for me and taxes in Australia suck. I've never been craving or irate and sure everyone's different but I agree with the concept. Its not a vice by any means

Nicotine's only about as addictive as caffeine. Cigarettes are generally full of a bunch of other stuff, but I definitely get more nicotine from my cigars than some people get from their daily cigarettes.

My grand father lived on Marple Street in Northeast Philly and worked at the Philadelphia Navy Yard and I remember going to their house in the late fifties and sixties. He was a pipe smoker ( prince albert) and a tobacco chewer ( mail pouch ) and a cigar smoker , mostly Phillies and although in those days you "could" smoke in the house, those hot summer nights he was out on the porch burning a Philly visiting with the neighbor ( they lived in row houses with a shared porch ) and that pipe and cigar smell was delightful ! I am sure his cigar cost about a nickel or a dime and would be appalled that one of his grandsons ( me ) has spent over $100 on a cigar ! These days I don't smoke in the house ( at least here ) but rather outside or on the porch weather providing. For the first time EVER in 20 years a couple of months ago my wife commented on "that cigar smells good' ! Wow!!!!! , this is from a non- smoker, what cigar was it? It was a Davidoff Royal Series original robusto ! The cigar was wonderful but her comment made the price ( $ 75.00 ) justified ! Keep up the good work and best regards from Montana USA , JZ

Im a pipe, cigar, and legal herb smoker, going through 8-10 cigars a month, and probably 90 bowls of pipe tobacco. As a tobacco lover, I appreciate both cigars and pipe tobacco flavors more because I experience a wider array of flavors and types. Imo. Just finished an Oliva M Monticello from your cigar of the month club. Exquisite cigar! Really loving the Nicaraguan tobacco recently. On a pipe tobacco note, HU Tobacco from Germany recently released their products in the USA, and if you love flavor, and amazing tobacco, HU is a no brainer. We pipe smokers call the aroma “room note” when addressing a tobacco’s smell indoors. Would love an infused cigar vid from Holt’s, if that’s something you guys smoke. Appreciate the vids and info. And the great cigars in Holt’s cigar of the month club! ❤

How do you deal with body and clothes odor after smoking a cigar? My hands and clothes smell very strongly of smoke when I've had a cigar. It doesn't matter whether I smoke outside or inside, in well-ventilated or poorly ventilated places. I also wash my hands in between and rinse my mouth. And the taste stays in my mouth for hours despite drinking and brushing my teeth... Do you have a solution for this or is it simply unavoidable? )
@tp5401Ай бұрын
I love the smell on my hands and clothes after I've smoked a good cigar! I wouldn't go to work that way but just being around the house I love it. The taste in the mouth thing is something you will prob get used to and eventually never notice again. That's my experience anyway.
@oranpfАй бұрын
Room notes vary less, and smoking overshadows it, but if you cultivated a connoisseurship in it, you would find some more descriptive notes. To me, maduro room notes smells more musky compared to the sweeter aroma of lighter wrappers (which is ironic because I usually get sweeter notes from smoking marudos). Also, the hops used in beer definitely smell like cannabis. Go to a home brewing store and smell some to see how dramatic the similarity is. I can't say I've ever smelled that degree of similarity from cigars beyond a vague "herbal" note that could just as well be cilantro or sage.

@2:19 That's the nicotine activating your parasympathetic nervous system which is one of the reasons why I think tobacco is associated with long life. Not cigarettes though, that's different, and activate you sympathetic nervous system too much cause you inhale a lot of the nicotine instead of a slow absorption which is more controlled, it just takes longer to feel the effects vs cigarettes, and less of a rush Having a cigar after a drink/ puffing some herb will feel good cause they enhance each other. Why you think you always see Shamans with a cigar, they are using it to stay in a certain frequency!

Why is it that one can smell a different aroma, from someone else’s is cigar? I agree 100% that it happens. My top 4 that I get comments from non smokers are the Davidoff Ann., the San Cristobal Quintessence, Rocky Patel 1999 and the EPC New Wave. I only smoke the EPC New Wave at the beach for this very reason. Strangely enough on many occasions people ask me if I am smoking a vanilla infused cigar, but I never get that tasting note from smoking it.
