Seriously, a pro wouldn't need more than 30 mins for this assignment. It looks marvellous on the big screen with all the editing & CGI thrown in, but that dancing isn't quite the pinnacle of his profession. It's rather ridiculous to think he was given an ultimatum like that ("Nick, we're making this blockbuster movie, every detail planned months & years in advance, but suddenly we're 30 minutes from the deadline for shooting the scene and we need a dancer..."), but even if he was, I'm sure he wouldn't even have flinched.

"death by day player" - i didn't get this joke until just now tbh, i googled what a day player is and it says: 'A day player is an actor hired on a daily basis and not on a long-term contract'. so it's just a fourth wall break referencing the other cast members in that scene

Yeah, it's depressing when utterly lame two-note songs become "the soundtrack of my youth", when the 'music' is only about the accompanying choreography and nothing else. It is put to imaginative use here but having some girlies yap-yap for 5 minutes through the whole intro is my idea of hell. It's one of many reasons why movies are best enjoyed alone.
