Didn’t even realize we played! As 4th position I figured it’d be pretty difficult to win this one, especially because of blue’s first suspect placement opening up a strong OWS position for you. Anyone have any tips for my play? Watching this back, I was not at all cognizant of the plow with Dylan’s rb 😅 you played this one really well though despite missing the early win-GG!

Honestly, I’m so stoked you got this one Recap: Blue messes up whole game by not taking 8/10/4 and leaving it to you.. Then blue proceeds to explode over getting robbed once and tries to throw the game to black..? Who wouldn’t rob someone to basically guarantee the first city of the game?? I think orange also messed up their placements honestly. Dyl gets assaulted, still crushes, misses LR, but it doesn’t matter 💪 Very fun board, would be a cool one to get placement analysis from you.. Or even just a game with better players 😆 Interesting port options and a huge need to close the board on 1st and 2nd position. Keep on grinding my man 💯

Would have to go back, but a promise sounds like a non binding deal. These types of deals are somewhat new to the game and I think the tactics regarding that style of gameplay have a long way to go. I would say, if anything, it is good table talk on Dylans part to take advantage of a trade he didnt have to complete. Blue trying to throw the game is poor gameplay every time@@MrAndrewaziz

hey DyLighted, love the video! I'd like to help you to enhance your audio quality a bit, please fix whatever Gate plug-in you're using for your mic. There should be a section that says attack and release and lower the time to a longer ms for each because it keeps cutting off your words at the end of sentences and sometimes the beginning. if you need help further I can link sources, just message back. If you want to lose, sure try to get into a road battle with black. The only way he wins with road here is by sneaking road for the win. Wasting a precious brick that he needs for the settle is a sure way to lose this, especially if the two other players are feeding black roads.

Question. If someone blocked you completely, maybe 2-3 times, and ruined any chance you had to win, would you just block them for the rest of the game? Or actually “play optimally” even though you have no chance of winning? I did the latter the other day but was called out for being toxic. Curious others opinion.

There are no hard rules about it, so you can do whatever makes you feel better. Catan is a social game, so you can expect to be called toxic or whatever. On Colonist you have always the option to mute any opponent that uses the chat in a way that you don't like.

What's the point of playing if you're not trying to win (or come close?). The thing I hate most about Catan is what you're describing - that you can play optimally but someone else throws a fit and tries to ruin your game for no reason.

If you notice carefully, at 9:35 Dylan started typing in the chat. He asked ore from Orange, then from Black, then the chat engine refused to send his next message for who knows what reason. Unfortunately the aggressive editing cut so many parts of this turn, that deprived us from crucial information about the flow of this game...
