Thanks for this video Justin. I am a Computer Information Systems major and I am very much interested in becoming a Data Analyst. Right now I am taking a MS Office Apps class (Part 1 and 2), that consist of MS office suite to include Excel so the certificate in Excel would be very beneficial to my career.i will also work with Access. The next class I am taking is the class called "Data Processing", which I will be working with SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Database, MySQL and ArangoDB. I will be doing modeling as well. I agree that all if these certifications will be a positive addition in my career as a Data Analyst.

Thanks Justin. Just want to share, I've been in this job for a little over 10yrs now. It's true you would have to bump your skill sets. I made mine through personal learning via youtube, online courses to even webinars. This is great input. Though here in the Philippines, it might be a different landscape towards DA, but that still depends on one's employeer. Thanks again man. Looking forward to your next videos.

@@msaldanao I bought their Coursera+ Membership or subscription. I pay something like $400/Year and have access to over 7,000 courses on coursera. Once you are subscribed to coursera+ you don't have to pay extra for these courses, as they are included. Note that some courses are still not included in the coursera+ membership though, but most of them are, that is why it is beneficial.

I am interested in becoming a data analyst. One of my goals is to work remotely. However, it seems like it involves delivering a lot of presentations. Can this job be done remotely? Or does this job involve a lot of in-person presentations?

I know i am late to the video. If you can i have 4 Questions? I am proficient in excel (except macros and vba)and manipulating the data making relationship between data as by power query, formulas and visualization of it. I have also used navicat to make queries and views in MySQL database to load into excel for accurate data representation. Beacaus power query can be a bit convoluted. Last thing i have learned this on my own i am an accountant by profession. 1) Keeping my above info in mind where I should start my journey to be better in this field. 2) Should i learn basics of data analytics so i can know about jargons which are commonly used? 3) Can you spare a bit of your busy schedule to converse only for a bit so I can get a better understanding of the field? I have watched a lot of videos but they are not clear enough i like the way you communicate. 4) any free courses you know with the same outlines as paid ones. The 3rd one is up to you

BTW, I'm choosing which specialization course in Coursera I want to take for Data Analysis. I'm in doubt between IBM Data Analyst x Google Data Analyst course. In your thoughtout , which one would you recommend to someone who has a 2 years of basic data analysis experience (Excel - Pivot, VLOOKUP / Qlik / Salesforce) and currently looking to reinforce the knowledge? Even so, the starting point would be the same as for beginners. Even because it's good to stabilize the base. tks!
