Watching this video today was a life changing event for me! I am a whole foods home cook and know a few things about nutrition. Today I threw away a unopened bottle AND a half used bottle of grapeseed oil, went to the website for real milk and found a close by source for raw milk - spoke directly to this person (on a Sunday), bought a herdshare and start getting raw milk in 3 days. I then purchased Sally's books Nourishing Traditions and Nourishing Broth. I cannot think of a more valuable/informative video that I have watched in a long time! Thank you for this video and I am looking forward to what the future holds in my ongoing endeavors to make the healthiest choices!

I just made bone broth for the first time about a month ago from some bones from regenerativeivly raised cow. I cooked them in the crockpot for over 24 hours and it completely turned into that thick gelatinous nutrient dense broth. It totally blew my mind to see it even though I’ve been hearing you girls talk about it for a few years. Now I’m totally addicted to making bone broth!

The last time I made chicken bone broth, I forgot to put the feet in. So I simmered the feet separately…. Wow! It was the most gelatinous thing I’ve ever made. Just added the 2 together eventually. Great for our bodies!!

I homeschooled my girls with a curriculum that uses Nourishing Traditions for their high school health class. We are starting younger and using it to teach them how to cook from our garden and our cow in the freezer. My kids all had varying allergies to milk. I spent years struggling to keep up with the dairy free recipes. We found raw milk and they do not have the issues they had. Cooking the closest to Nourishing Traditions as we can has been amazing. I am determined to get it more consistent this summer.

Well, what a relief to hear somebody back up my eight decades,plus plus of living and chasing raw milk. Of course at my age, we all grow up with raw milk, but when I left the home farm to try very hard to be a part of the bigger world, I just couldn’t get along without my raw milk so/and chased it. Virginia and Massachusetts made me buy into a cow, meaning that I had to be part-owner of a cow by paying a good-😅 old farmer an annual or monthly fee (fortunately mostly monthly) for feeding one of their cows so that I could say that I was a farmer and then I could Buy the raw milk that they were selling. But I chased and chased and chased and always and always and always had my milk and butter and cream and whipped cream and buttermilk and LEAF LARD… I was actually able to get that over these decades by asking for leaf lard from a farmer. I did not need to use Crisco Now I have cancer of the breast from just rushing up and down the coast and being a semi traveler, and I have controlled it completely 484 years, but with my own exuding cancer port from my own body that I control my own self with the help of nurses, by continuing on my RAW steak tartar and bone broth and fat fat fat from the real stuff and no one can understand why I did not need chemo therapy or radiation. No one. Not even my three wonderful grown-up fantastic children. They can’t understand it thank you for keeping the records And validating my life needs

All of this makes SO much sense! The conversation about the skim milk and using the butterfat for other ways to make money from one product is similar to the “dead” flour they sell in the stores where they use the healthy parts of the wheat berries to make money by selling it for animal feed or other products. I recently started buying wheat berries and milling my own flour and what a difference!!! I also make bone broth and use non seed oils, and a lot of what was discussed here. Unfortunately my state is one of the places where raw milk is not easily available because of the laws we have here against it. Great podcast, thank you

Being active too! I grew up as a tiny child eating dirt and playing outdoors. We are very healthy and it's not something I see among others on a conventional diet, after much research I do believe it's about quality organic cooking/ferments and keeping the mind active with hobbies etc. Nothing to do with animal products per se. We've been on top health for 35 years. But that's how it is for us.

Organic yogurt is better than not, if it has the probiotic active cultures. The difference is between the ideal product, and a processed lower quality product. As evidenced by the recent national cream cheese recall, there are risks with processed foods which simply don't exist in a normal household and fresh milk from a dairy or your own cow.

@FineFeatheredHomestead4 ай бұрын
Raw cheese is made from raw milk. Because cheese requires cooking the curds. The cheese making process is dramatically enhanced by starting with raw milk due to it containing all the essential nutrients, enzymes and good bacteria that develops it. You can make cheese with pasteurized milk, too. But that requires adding calcium chloride. Raw milk has it all
