Love the review!! Thorough yet efficient, and most importantly feels genuine and not like a generic advertisement for a bag - keep em coming!

Thanks for the side by side Andy I think I'm leaning more towards the older gen. Some questions: Are there much of a noticable difference between the comfort level on the harness and ventilation between the two 1.5s? Say with a full load, 3 days worth of clothings and a laptop. For the conceal pocket on the old gen, can you access it for quick grabs or dumps with both shoulder straps still on? Many thanks. Also I've noticed there aren't a lot of heft on the new gens front bottom pocket? Not looking that useful.
@AndyModellBackpacks6 ай бұрын
I would say the harnesses are similarly comfortable. Maybe the new one has a slight edge. I think it is possible to reach the conceal pocket on the old gen with the bag on if you can easily reach your spine behind your back. The bottom pocket on the new gen isn't very big, but if you have smaller items, it can still be useful.

Would you recommend the new Evade 1.5s over the GR1 21L? Do you think it’s too bulky for edc or too big to fit under an airplane? I love how slim and tough the GR1 is but sometimes with it had a few more pockets. I also like to use my backpack for a weekend travels
@AndyModellBackpacks6 ай бұрын
I don’t think the evade 1.5 is too bulky unless you’re on a low cost airline that enforces sizes. Otherwise, I’m a big fan of using the evade for when I need the organization

Hi Andy. What do you think about latest Evvergoods, AONs, etc. bags compared with to Syniks and other Tom Bihns you reviews several years back?
@AndyModellBackpacks2 ай бұрын
They’re all bags of quality, but they definitely pack differently. If you’re a bigger fan of having things in pouches or cases, than the bags with more pockets and organization may be less likely to fit. At the same time, I still use my TB synapse as my day pack while traveling, and I’m actually rocking a synik this week.

Great review, really helped me decide to preorder this bag in the xpac version. I want to get that accessory for the extra organization as well but I don’t know how to differentiate the slider and the ordinary one.
@AndyModellBackpacks4 ай бұрын
The slider has a handle on top. The ordinary has hook velcro to attach to the loop panel in the pocket

Lovely review. The new gen is definitely an overal upgrade in every area, but I'm still very much partial to my old gens 😅😅 I use the interior loop panel to hold me 1 inch text patches, in the ccw pocket I put another organizer for more sensitive items (like when I enter an area with bag checks, don't do this btw....), and I use the bottom straps to clip on my sweaty training gear, one time I strapped a cool log I found on a hike.
@AndyModellBackpacks7 ай бұрын
Gotta love the cool logs

What do you think that makes this an overall upgrade? I haven’t bought the evade yet but all the features everyone talked about seems they removed for a sleeker looking pack.
@j_crust45826 ай бұрын
@@AFGixxeR88 well, that in itself can be an upgrade depending on a person's point of view. In that way I think it's definitely a better pack for a majority of evade owners. Sadly, I am not a part of that majority as I use the features they removed every day with my old gen evade.

Any sense as to the volume in the main area of the new Evade 1.5?
@AndyModellBackpacks5 ай бұрын
I think the whole bag is about 25L, so the main compartment is around 20+? It has a bit of depth, which is nice.
@thetechtrek5 ай бұрын
@@AndyModellBackpacks interesting. I have grown found of a large capacity main (REI Trail 25) and using pouches. But I want a more refined pack, though. I was considering the Evade even though it does weight a pound more.

Would this fit under a airplane seat as a personal item?

@@AndyModellBackpacks does filling the main compartment too much compromise the laptop with the new hybrid sleeve?
@AndyModellBackpacks3 ай бұрын
There’s definitely padding, but if it’s uneven pressure, I guess that may impact the laptop?
@AFGixxeR886 ай бұрын
Oh boy, I was looking at getting this bag finally after hearing so much positives, but seems like like they removed a lot of the great features just to save weight and for a cleaner look with this new version. The bottom straps would be nice for a blanket, jacket or sleeping bag, took out the Molle interior panel. While I do like the magnetic patch, the coyote interior color. It seems like this bag has less features than the old one.
@AndyModellBackpacks6 ай бұрын
I think it’s a very common tradeoff between weight and features for bag designers. Some brands make the most feature filled bags, but their weight makes the carry experience significantly worse
