Top ELSS funds 2024 | Best funds to save income tax in FY24

ELSS or equity-linked savings schemes are one of the most popular tax-saving options. Currently, there are 40 ELSS funds available. They have varying performances. Since tax-saving funds lock in the capital for 3 years, it’s crucial that the right choice is made.
To select the best ELSS funds, we developed a methodology. We checked the 7-year rolling returns, quartile ranking and risk-adjusted returns of the eligible funds. Doing so, we reduced the number of funds to just 11. We then picked the top 3 funds from the list.
You can watch the video to find out the names of these funds. We have also explored the basic details about these funds so that you can pick the one most suitable for you. However, you must do your own research as well before investing in any of them. These funds are not our recommendations.

You didn't consider Expense Ratio...Bank of India has expense ratio of 1.2% so makes it less lucrative than many others. Quant still charges less makes it a better choice by this standard as well.

The P/E ratio for the fund is an essential factor to consider for mutual fund? Please confirm its significance. Additionally, I'm curious if Quant Flexi Cap and ELSS both follow the same investment strategy, with the only distinction being the lock-in period. Could you advise on the better fund for long-term investment? I acknowledge the inherent volatility in this fund but have a minimum investment horizon of 10+ years.

Don't consider PE when comparing funds. Go for Quant active which allocates a min of 25% each to mid and small caps if you have a 10 year horizon.

Quant funds tend to make more frequent portfolio changes compared to other funds. I don't mind this, and I support their use of the VLRT method. For me, Flexi Cap and ELSS appear to be the best options, it providing flexibility to fund and the current AUM is also relatively low.

@@parmeetsingh9106depends on ones mindset- if you think you don't succumb to the financial requirements and keep the Sips steady then Flexi cap works better but if you think that there might be a tendency of taking the money out ELSS is better. Overall they are similar in terms of investment philosophy. ELSS generally is a go to option in old tax regime but soon there will be only new regime as default after elections having elss doesn't provide any benefit in terms of tax saving at this point So finally narrows down on you - flexibility or not is the only question

Yes you can stop investing and invest in a new fund...but u can't withdraw before three years...that applies to ur last sip means an installment done in jan 3 yrs ago can be withdrawn in jan but installment done in Feb can be withdrawn in Feb only

Hello, if your ELSS fund continues to do well, you can hold it for as long as you want, just like any other mutual fund. The end of the 3-year lock-in period shouldn't be the sole criterion to exit it. You can also earmark your ELSS fund to a long-term goal such as retirement.

All three are not good for long term investing. Wrong parameters seems to have been looked at. For ex, churn ratio, quality of the portfolio, involvement in unnecessary IPOs, integrity of the management etc have to be looked at. I will never invest in a fund that invest in Adani stocks for ex.

Just curious. Why? I mean the fund house will switch, if necessary, right? For diversification within domestic market, it might be handy. Hence curious as to why you are against fund houses investing in Adani stocks

@@sc7783Investing in Adani stocks is like gambling. Personality, I also think it is unethical to be part of what Adani is doing. Besides if we look at the portfolios no honest fund manager invest in Adani stocks. It's a litmus test I follow.

Hello, there is no such fund. Neither should you try to look for any get-rich-quick investment. To get the best results, we would advise you to invest regularly in good funds and for the long term.
