I like this tank, but the most disappointing feature is that if you choose to use a heater, the lid will not sit right on top of the tank! Why suggest a heater to control temps when the lid will not stay put properly? This is one of the biggest complaints that people have with this tank. I've had mine for 2 months and yet to put a beta in it. I wish I could find an alternative lid. @Aquarium Conversations, do you still like this tank?

Just purchased this and trying to figure out what to do with the heater cord.. The only drawback I see to this tank is the lack of space in the back designated or cut out for more equipment (like a heater) .. the only area designed for allowing wires/cords is strictly for the filter. As a betta specified aquarium (needing 78/80 temp), I’m a tad bit surprised that an additional open space was not planned when designing the hood given a heater wasn’t built into or attached with the filtration system. Any suggestions?! Do I try to cut out or make a tiny space somehow - similar to what they did for the cord - or try to extend the space they have by cutting a little more so that space is bigger and could them fit both cords? This would have been an A+ rating except for this dilemma- and it is driving me nuts!!! Any advice is welcome!!! What have people done? Right now my lid isn’t set correctly as the cord won’t allow a flush closing.

Even though this tank says it’s only 3 gallons, the actual swim area / where water is looks bigger than the top fin 5 gallon engage white tank. What is your opinion on comparing them? The back wall filter on the 5 gallon looks like it takes up a lot of tank space. I wonder how many gallons it actually holds in front of wall.
@aquariumconversations84204 жыл бұрын
Good point I'm guessing 4 to 4.5 gallons.
@mosstef564 жыл бұрын
Aquarium Conversations thanks for replying! I’ve been debating between these two tanks on which one to get. If you had to choose only one, which one do you prefer? Or what is your all time favorite rimless 5 gallonish?
@aquariumconversations84204 жыл бұрын
@@mosstef56 absolutely! Good question. I never had it but I would have really enjoyed the fluval spec 5. I had the 2.5 spec and really enjoyed it. The marineland portrait was a good tank as well. I enjoyed the 5 gallon top Fin tank more than the 3 gallon. Aqueon makes a 5.5 gallon tank that is pretty good too.

@@mosstef56 waterbox makes a rimless 6 gallon tank. That would be nice.

Aquarium Conversations I’m looking at the fluval spec v since petco is doing $30 off $100 it’s down to $70. Not too bad. I love the look of waterbox tanks but I have to had a lid for my African dwarf frogs and mystery snails. Also an issue I’m running into with these awesome seamless small tanks, hardly any of them come with lids and if they do then the filter is crap 😅.

Thanks for the review, I am buying one this week, I enjoy collecting Top Fin aquariums, especially now... they are creating new tanks and made with glass instead of acrylic. Hoping lights on this nano tank can support floating Horrn wort plant for my Betta. Cheers from Bend Or

How do I know what setting to have the filter at? It doesn’t say in the instructions. I set it toward the bigger part of the arrow, so you think that should be ok?

do you know how you would put a filter in this tank? there doesn't seem yo be any openings on the lid for wires to go in and out of.

I bought one of these recently and have been cycling it to prepare for a betta. Unfortunately, I am having issues with water leaking down the back of the tank. It looks like the filter sitting up against the back is somehow pulling water up and over the edge. Otherwise, the tank seems to work great for me.
@marieward5135 жыл бұрын
I had a leaking problem too. I suspect that's why it's not listed on Petsmarts' website. The issue is that the lid does not go down all the way, so condensation sneaks out. I put two heavy things on top of it, and now I don't have any leaking or condensation issues. The point is, you shouldn't have to, so I hope they fix that, but other than that I really love this tank!
