When the episode aired they used a take where he said “teacher”, this was take three of the three takes made of him doing the rhyme. Someone then leaked to the media the existence of the outtake which lead to complaints, there was no further action taken because it wasn’t broadcast. Then take two aka the one in question was leaked to the Mirror who released it learning to Clarkson getting his “final warning”, this was roughly a year before he was sacked. Someone within either the BBC or Top Gear seemed determined to throw him under the bus at every opportunity. In the end the trio left and went on to better things whereas Top Gear began a decline to death just as it had the last time Clarkson left. A similar thing happened on Sky Sports with Andy Gray & Richard Keys when off air stuff was leaked leading to both being sacked. Coincidently at the time Gray was in the middle of a legal battle with the ex newspaper The News Of The World at the time whose owner just happened to be majority owner of Sky.

These did in fact air. While the the media did comment on a few of these moments, the general public didn’t much care for it and enjoyed the show. British humour is often lost of people that aren’t familiar with how cut throat and brutal it is. We British will make fun of ourselves, others and countries this way. We certainly take the piss out of our European friends a lot, likely due to historical connections we have from centuries of fighting.

Worth noting, because a lot of people who react to this video don't notice it - or at least don't acknowledge it - is that the N-word shame thing was unaired footage. Someone dug it up to smear Clarkson. For the actual thing that was broadcast, he said "tiger" instead. Also, in case you didn't catch it, the car that Hammond was referring to in the second-to-last clip was the MG Midget being driven by Clarkson in that challenge. Yes, the car was actually called that.

jeremy knew he didnt say, but when he listened back to the take he did feel it was similar enough to request the clip be pulled from the episode and replaced, meaning he was actually trying not to offend someone for once

It makes me laugh today when youngsters are shocked about things said by Jeremy and the rest of the lads for their comments. It goes to show how too far left this country has gone with freedom of expression, and that in this day and age there is a dictatorship in what you can't say which is against your rights. I like many of my generation say that you can stick your Political Correctness up where the sun doesn't shine. Taking the piss out of people including foreigners, politicians, countries, religions and anything else is a British tradition that is part of our rights. The only unaired footage that I used for the compilation was the "Clarkson's N-Word Shame" portion. The version of that that aired had the word "teacher" edited in over the part of the rhyme where the n-word is. Cheers, guys.

People forget the self deprecating humour that Britain has on itself. We are brutal and ruthless on everyone including ourselves and it’s never supposed to be personal. They do have the episodes on iPlayer, though any controversial bits have been edited out, namely the Mastretta review or the lorry-driving shot of Jeremy. Though, strangely, they left in things like the infamous "Growler" or the gags about the Middle East.

Makes reference to the Pero Palo Festival in Western Spain. Basically they parade a donkey through the town, hurling abuse at it and generally mistreating the animal before locking it in a shed. Bizarre and frankly disgusting given the donkey was the noble creature who, if the Bible is to be believed, transported Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem and the birthplace of Jesus.

I am 56. My parents and my teachers taught me that version of Eany Meany Miney Mo. It always had the N word in it. There was a colour of shoe polish called N..... brown. We had a tin of it . B&Bs had signs that stated "No dogs, No Irish, No blacks!" I remember seeing them. Britain is a far better country today, not perfect, but better.
