I just looked at my upcoming Celebrity sailing and it seems that only a small amount of wine, cheese plate, strawberries and a few other items are available. The suggested flowers example were from a Holland America Line sailing. Each line seems to be adjusting their offerings. I believe Royal Caribbean still offers the bon voyage, cabin decorations and birthday cakes etc. Thanks for sharing!

I always use a passport holder anytime I have to let go of my passport. Going through airport security, for instance, is one time you have to leave your passport while you go through the checking system. The passport holder prevents someone from accidentally scooping up your passport by mistake. It also deters thieves who would like to be able to claim “just a mistake” if they are caught with your passport. I always keep my passport with me on land. I take it out of the case (just to reduce the bulk) and keep it in a secure pouch under my clothes. I don’t trust pockets, purses, tote bags, backpacks, etc - I have seen too many clever thieves, and too many absentminded travellers parking their bag and forgetting to watch it.

Those are great points! I agree about the backpack / purses. I actually left our backpack at a cafe inside of Atlantis resort in Nassau. I sat it down to pay at the cashier and had to run back 5 minutes later to get it. Luckily it was still sitting there just where I had left it. It contained all of our passports and other important items. Thanks for sharing and for watching!

I will be going on a TA cruise in 2 weeks on Holland. do you have any tips to get an upgrade on Hal?

HAL does not have many upgrade methods unfortunately. I had a free stateroom offered recently and was able to request a balcony cabin instead of an inside. All I had to do was to pay a few more in port fees and taxes. We are sailing Rotterdam in December. It also never hurts to ask about upgrades when checking in at the port or once onboard at guest relations. Good luck!

I'm glad to hear that you'll be giving HAL another chance. I recall that you weren't thrilled with the Eurodam, but we love their Pinnacle class shipsl! Hope to see a video from you after your trip!

@@limmerb I have high hopes that the Pinnacle Class (specifically Rotterdam) will impress. You are correct that our experience on the Eurodam disappointed even though it was a great Panama Canal itinerary. @@seemoreseascruises3791 We were on the Rotterdam in March 2023 to the Southern Caribbean and really enjoyed it (but that was when they still had Lincoln Center Stage). Hope that HAL has improved their music and entertainment options for you on your December sailing, and I look forward to your videos!
