Gosh I love your work but I've shed away from working with fondant it's so expensive here $115. for 2lbs and sometimes a cake uses more than that.

I totally hear you! When I first started making cakes I ended up just making all of my fondant because it was so expensive to buy and I found it just tasted like feet. Now I use homemade marshmallow fondant or for the more complicated cakes I'll make my own modelling chocolate. A little more time consuming but it's much easier on the wallet!
