The reason why Justice Corona was politically persecuted was mainly because of two reasons. He was PGMA's appointee and he voted in favor of the Hacienda Luisita farmers that irked the land stewards Cojuanco/Aquinos. As the Congressman pointed out it wasn't about justice and doing the right thing. It was simply a proxy war between PGMA and the Aquinos. The Aquinos wanted to purge all of PGMAs allies so that they could use PGMA as a scapegoat for all of the chaos that they were about to create (From HK Hostage Crisis, SAF44, Yolanda, etc). Fun Fact: Justice Del Castillo was also targeted by the Aquinos but their main target became Justice Corona.
