Watch Peppers @ 1:34!! He literally puts on a Hakeem Dream Shake up move but draws 2 guys and flicks a perfect no look to Haywood for a yak. The dude was simply the greatest athlete of my generation. He doesnt get one iota of the adoration he deserves. True unicorn before they called people that.

I was a teen watching Peppers play bball. When I found out that he was drafted to the NFL I was so confused. ATM of the NCAA tournament, I didn't even know he played football. Imagine if he went to the NBA

Peppers was a beast! I remember watching him at North Carolina with Haywood and Joseph Forte not even knowing he was an elite football player because he really was a monster at power forward, he had good hands and was so quick and strong in the low post.. I wonder how good he’d be if he only played basketball

ZION but cut up. Thats how. I was a UNC when he was and have been lucky to share a pick up court with him. He was twice as big and 5times as strong and easily faster than anyone ive EVER seen play. He would have been a 10yr all-pro in any sport he played.

Mr. Double-Double George Fant for Western Kentucky is a legend and current Tackle for the Seahawks started for the 2011-12 and 2012-13 Hilltoppers who were the #16 seed both years and finished with 33 points, 19 rebounds, 5 steals, and a block in 3 total NCAA tournament games Edit: since I first posted he is now on The Jets

Gates was a HELLUVA player. Taking a Mid Major Like Kent State to the Elite 8 in 2003 was almost as impressive as when George Mason went to the Final Four in 2006 - up to then they were the biggest cinderlla I had seen in a long time. Gates would be in the NBA if only he was 4 inches taller lol. Because as great a Football player as he was - He was a much better Basketball player. God just blessed him with the perfect physique and athletcism - for football not B-Ball lol. And if they shift to Baseball players - this list grows tremendously! For example Kenny Lofton was a helluva point guard on a Final 4 team at Arizona

Peppers was a beast for sure, he’s probably my favorite of the bunch…but Mo Alie Cox was the “biggest playing” 6’6 guy I’ve ever seen (outside of Barkley). Mo would manhandle true centers as if he were a 7 footer himself.

Gates averaged 18.8 points and 7.3 rebounds in the 2002 Tournament, was all-South Regional and was the best player on a team that went 30-6 and reached the Elite 8. He was a beast.

Gates was also a full time college basketball player, he never played a snap of college football. Tony G and Julius Peppers just moonlighted in basketball. Gates wanted to play college football and basketball and was recruited by Nick Saban while he was the coach Michigan State. Saban told gates he could play for him and that Tom Izzo would have a walk on spot for him on thd basketball team. Gates actually committed to Michigan State but when he got to campus Saban told him that he had changed his mind and he needed to be a football player only. Gates left Michigan State immediately and never played any football until he got signed by the chargers.
