That looks solid!! Great design.. I recently bought a 1989 suburban. The dude a bought it from had a custom back bumper and tire carrier for his spare 35inch. Unfortunately the work looks nice, but the metal is too thin and it twists and bounces. Yikes. So long story short i come across your product and videos in the middle of problem solving this thing. I think this is a solid solution for pivot strength. Definitely an upgrade. My only question since I most likely am going to be turning it into a two arm instead of single for jerry cans and propane tanks, is how far can it rotate out? Right now I can easily rotate the carrier straight out, in line with the bumper. I know it won't go that far with your product, but I have barn doors and would like to at least still open the doors as wide as they will let me without the arms getting in the way. oh wait! second question...Can I mount it in different angles to maximize rotation and still maintain strength? Thank you

Thanks, It will depend a little on the arm size. Based on the drawing if it is mounted inline with the arm there is 140 degrees from closed to hitting the back plate. Yes you can mount it at an angle to increase this angle. On some JK bumpers I have built I mount them at an angle.

I was excited for a second... until you got deeper into the details. Why not just copy the dual shear set-up COMP4x4 had... and it should not be an issue since Jared has seemingly vanished and vacated the field. There was nothing like his and they were awesome. And do the through tube with topnut... not this surface mount that begs before were smart enough to use quality materials... I see too many people mounting to "affordable" type crap bumpers with thin steel...

I certainly agree I wouldn't want to see folks buy one of these and put it on top of one of those 10 ga, non supported bumpers, it will just flex. That's why I discuss that midway through the video and the bumper we are showing it on is 7 ga with reinforcement which eliminates the flex. We do also have available the single point tire carrier pivot which can be installed in a tube if the designer of the bumper of application so wishes. Thanks

and i liked that the comp4x4 one locked open which is why i'm here to see if this one does. it doesnt but looks nice.
