Body-on-frame SUVs such as the Toyota Fortuner are powered by IMV technology. Along with the engine options, albeit with different outputs, the Hilux and the Innova share this base. Regarding design, the updated Fortuner is more streamlined than the previous model. Additionally, customers may choose between a more robust and sporty LTD trim, which is available in both 4x2 and 4x4 arrangements.
The Fortuner GR-S has a number of upgrades, including an aero package and several interior improvements including new seats, a steering wheel, and an upgraded suspension system. The Hilux GR-S version and this one were introduced together.
Regarding the chassis, the Fortuner comes with a multilink system up front and a double-wishbone suspension system down back. With their full independence, both suspension systems offer an improved ride. Other than that, you should anticipate vented disc brakes on all sides and wheels that measure either 17 inches for G versions or 18 inches for V variants and above. A machine-cut finish allows the LTD trim to use a special set of 18-inch wheels. A new set of monotube shock absorbers and damper adjustments were part of the suspension changes the Japanese carmaker made for the Toyota Fortuner GR-S.
The best thing about the Fortuner is its excellent Noise,Vibration,Harshness (NVH) insulation, which keeps most noise out of the interior. The 6-speed automated transmission likewise shifts gears swiftly and seamlessly.
All Toyota models come standard with a 7- or 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
A 9-speaker JBL audio system is included in this Top of the Line Fortuner to improve the listening experience. Aside from that, proximity sensors will come standard on all models.
The Toyota Gazoo Racing Sport package, which is fitted on the GR-S model of the Fortuner, gives it a more aggressive appearance. The SUV's aerodynamic profile is improved by the model's diffusers and spoilers. The GR-S versions now get a new set of 18-inch wheels, a new rear bumper, and unique bumpers of their own.
The Fortuner GR-S variant has the same features as the LTD trims, but it also has a Gazoo Racing touch. A new steering wheel, set of GR-S seats, and several other interior upgrades are included.
Driver, front passenger, and knee airbags are standard equipment on all Fortuner models. A total of seven airbags are included in the top trim level, the LTD, which also includes driver, front passenger, side, curtain shield, and knee airbags. Additionally, Toyota included pre-collision warning, lane departure alert, and adaptive cruise control with the LTD levels of Toyota Safety Sense. Additional safety features include child lock doors, a Toyota vehicle security system, an engine immobilizer, a horn, ISOFIX child seat anchors, ABS with EBD and brake assist, traction control, hill-start assist control, downhill assist control for the 4x4 LTD, and 3-point seatbelts for all occupants.
