Great video! You highlight so much of what there is to love in the Alps in summer. You're truly missing out, though, if you skip the German Alps. Oberstdorf, Garmisch, Berchtesgaden... the hiking is absolutely top class, and if you have a sweet tooth, you can't beat German cake to refuel. 😊

We spent a week around the abondance valley, morzine and les gets and loved it. I highly recommend a visit to the goat village - we did a Vlog about it, they were amazing!

I bet you had the most amazing experience. Richard has been looking into the planning for the TMB booking the refuges. We are tempted to to it around this time next year or 2025. Chamonix is up there as one of my favourite places in Europe 🥾🚐⛰️

We are some of those ‘thinking about summer travel’ people 😀 - we have got Lake Annecy planned already for July but great tips for Switzerland 😀 thanks - we’re looking for an August location so maybe back to the Alps 🇨🇭

It is just a craft gin - I think it was called ‘peak mountain gin’ it is from Peak District distillery - we had it about 4 years ago but love the bottle and use it as a light 🤣

I've always avoided the Alps during the school holidays as I've assumed they would be unbearably crowded. Does this fit with your experience or isn't it too bad?

We found Annecy quite unbearable in the summer holidays, Chamonix was very busy but campsites are spread out along the valley and we stayed a few miles out with free train links. Val d isere was fab - pretty quiet. We did find this time in mid September that the alpine villages were quiet with lift closing for the season.
